Accounting Manager is available onsite in Columbus, OH. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining adherence to accounting standards. This role involves leading a team of accountants, managing general ledger activities, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and providing insights for financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Assign tasks and projects to team members, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions and journal entries.
    • Review and approve reconciliations, financial statements, and reports prepared by the team.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
    • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls:
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and company policies and procedures.
    • Support internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
    • Maintain and update internal controls and accounting policies to ensure robust financial governance.
  • System and Process Management:
    • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in the accounting system.
    • Identify and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
    • Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial managers.
    • Act as a liaison between the accounting department and external stakeholders such as auditors and regulatory agencies.
    • Office environment with occasional overtime during peak periods (e.g., month-end and year-end close)

    Qualifications:

    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
      • CPA or MBA certification preferred.
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 5 years of progressing accounting experience.
      • Strongly preferred 2-3 years in a manager or supervisory role.
    • Skills:
      • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
      • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
      • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial analysis tools.
      • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    Travel Required:

    Minimal travel required.
