As the Agile Delivery Lead in Commercial Portfolio, you will perform the role of Scrum Master, developing and leading a high-performing, multi-discipline team, instilling in them a clear vision and a passionate drive. They play a leading role in fulfilling the vision, driving the implementation of technical products and setting standards for teams to follow. The Agile Delivery Lead is responsible for the day to day planning, leading, organising and motivating of the scrum team(s) to achieve a high level of performance and quality in the delivery of outputs that provide exceptional value to business users.


In this role you will:



  • Schedule user stories from the technical product backlog to the Sprint plan, focusing on regular and timely delivery of business value initiatives, and facilitating agile ceremonies, e.g. product backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies removing impediments/blockers to ensure optimal flow of value.

  • Guide the team on the use of Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight the business and how to elicit the most out of self-organization. Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team. Promote empowerment of the team, ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the initiatives and is making a meaningful contribution, and encourages a sustainable pace adhering to the agreed delivery and quality management plan with the team

  • Work collaboratively with the Technical Product Owners to refine, clarify and maintain the product backlog, schedule and commit stories into sprints and visualizes/reports progress.

  • Support the Technical Product Owners in managing business expectations and transparency in both product backlog, prioritization and delivery schedule for all initiatives.

  • Define and manage a well-defined process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Delivery Management and effectively manage conflict resolution.

  • Ensure the Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done (DOD) is being followed, and make sure that each team member is fully engaged in the stories and is making a meaningful contribution.

  • Encourage a sustainable pace adhering to the agreed quality management plan with the team. Maintains agile project management tools (Confluence, JIRA, etc.).

Job Requirements:

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:



  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a subject related to Computer Science or similar.

  • Preferably a certified Scrum Master with 3+ years of practical application of the Scrum Management, SAFe, PMI ACP discipline (transition of existing SDCs are exempt)

  • 5+ years of working in Information Technology in agile delivery within the context of a small/medium technology change program

  • Well-versed in the use of tools of software delivery e.g. MS OFFICE suite, JIRA, Confluence, etc.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information in an understandable format to all stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, focusing on core scrum values of openness, honesty, and respect.

  • Experience leading teams.

  • Vendor management experience.
