The role

Working as part of the new training transformation team the agile project manager will support the programme manager in setting up the new workstream, working as part of the partnership and the MOD to ensure a new way of working for training transformation. As part of the new ways of working we will be setting up agile teams and running basic SAFe agile process.

The agile project manager will be responsible for supporting these agile teams up, working with the supplier agile project manager and technical leads to create inputs and support the agile ceremonies, support manage escalation and programme finances.


Main Duties

  • Responsible for supporting agile teams in daily agile activities.
  • Supporting the agile teams in escalations and programme management
  • Supporting the agile teams in preparing for PI planning and sprint showcases
  • Supporting the team in creating stories and acceptance criteria
  • Deputising for the programme manager where needed
  • Working with customers and suppliers in joint management boards
  • Implement PMX best practice and manage by example to instil flawless programme execution behaviours and processes.
  • Sustain collaborative relationships with peers within the Customer, strategic Partners, Suppliers and across Raytheon consistent with the programme, programme element or pursuit shared vision.

Essential:

  • Experience of working on agile programmes
  • Relevant, recent demonstrable experience of successful programme execution in a highly regulated and/or controlled environment
  • Demonstrate and advocate Raytheon leadership behaviours
  • A self-starting and capable manager, able to effect change through the matrix organisation, even where direct hierarchical control does not exist
  • Supportive, with the character to navigate sensitive and pressurised situations to overcome delivery challenges
  • Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding
  • Drive to create change and continuously improve performance
  • Creative and open to innovation in order to solve problems

Desirable:

  • Experience of working on Jira
  • Experience of working in MOD and/or training
  • Degree qualified in a technical or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience
  • Interested in continuous professional development of self and others
