As an Air Vehicle Engineer Manager, you will lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers. With a strong background in flight testing, overseeing a team of engineers, and managing various engineering processes and protocols, you will ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance in all aspects of flight test operations. The role demands the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team of approximately 30 professionals, ensuring collaboration, timely project completion, and high standards of work.

2. Anomaly Resolution: As a senior engineer, lead the engineering team in identifying, analyzing, and resolving anomalies, ensuring swift and efficient troubleshooting and mitigation.

3. Process & Procedure Development: Ensure the engineering team develops, implements, and adheres to robust processes and procedures for all flight test operations.

4. Configuration Control: Oversee and maintain rigorous configuration control practices, ensuring that all aircraft modifications, systems, and components align with company standards.

5. Training: Ensure the engineering team is adequately trained and stays up to date and complies with company standards.

6. Engineering and Peer Reviews: Lead and conduct periodic engineering reviews to ensure best practices, address any issues, and continuously optimize for performance and safety. Implement and oversee a systematic peer review process within these reviews, ensuring the engineering team maintains the highest quality standards in all their outputs.

7. Risk Management: Understand, analyze, and mitigate potential risks in flight test operations, always ensuring safety and compliance.

A level 5 employee Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Flight Test Mission Control Room (MCR) or flight crew experience
Experience interacting with customers in a formal capacity or as subject matter expert.
Ability to build and maintain a technical team.
Experience with engineering documentation, configuration control and change boards.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a STEM discipline
Desired Skills:
Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment.
Creativity/innovation to tackle issues related to anomalous performance of any aspect of an aircraft operations.
Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently.
Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
A basic-to-advanced understanding of a wide range of engineering disciplines.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
