Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

Joby is seeking an experienced aircraft maintenance professional to join our aviation maintenance team as an Aircraft Maintenance International Program Manager. This individual will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and launching international maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) locations. This position will also manage coordination internally with various Joby leadership teams and externally with government, regulatory, and industry stakeholders for each international program. This position will also develop program standards and processes for consistent and efficient international MRO implementation through standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will be passionate about establishing the highest standards of aircraft airworthiness and MRO business practices with a core focus on safety, with a willingness to travel as needed to each international program location.

Responsibilities
  • Manage internal coordination across Joby leadership teams and subject matter experts in identifying and evaluating suitable MRO sites/facilities in accordance with Joby MRO requirements in support of international flight demonstrations, events, and commercial market development.
  • Support the drafting of approved maintenance organization certification documentation as applicable for each international program.
  • Manage coordination with government, regulatory, and industry stakeholders for each international program including recommending regulatory changes in support of Joby commercial maintenance operations.
  • Develop program standards and processes for consistent and efficient international MRO implementation through standard operating procedures.
  • Manage the launching of each international MRO location to include organizational structure, regulatory compliance, and logistical needs.
  • Manage and coordinate logistics efforts including international shipping of aircraft, tools, ground support equipment, spares, supplies, etc.
  • Instill a strong culture of safety and adherence to regulatory and company requirements in all maintenance and airworthiness activities.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of international MRO programs and make recommendations to address evolving requirements and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Support domestic MRO and line maintenance launch programs
  • Support other maintenance programs as projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years MRO management experience (civilian 135/145 and/or military equivalent).
  • Experience managing international MRO maintenance projects.
  • Working knowledge of FAA (required) and EASA regulations (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50 of the time.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work permanently in the USA and willing to work daily in Marina, California.
Desired
  • Formal academic education or skills training in business administration / project management.
  • Experience working with international regulators in aircraft maintenance and airworthiness compliance.
  • Experience managing international logistics including shipping and customs requirements.
  • Familiar with electronic aircraft maintenance management ERP systems.
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating.
