Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all of the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon Pennsylvania, a division of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC), is a manufacturing leader of Flash Welded and Cold Rolled near net shaped rings primarily used in commercial and military aircraft. We are currently seeking a highly motivated person to fill a Business Development Supervisor role for the Mountaintop facility located in Northeast Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate for us is willing to learn a new industry and aimed to provide exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

STRATEGIC:

  • Owns Sales Team new PO Acceptance Processes and oversees adherence to quality and timeliness of process completion
  • Owns the development, reporting, and burn off of weekly, monthly and quarterly shipping hurdles pending Sales Department Action
  • Develop, maintain and report on RFQ / Opportunity Tracker for Sales Team. Track large or strategic opportunities, win / loss drivers, and ensure margin is tracking to leadership identified targets
  • Analyzes customer order backlog to identify targeted weekly, monthly and quarterly ship plans that meet Division budget requirements. Tracking actuals to forecasted to identify gaps and corrective action plans. Oversee backlog data integrity.
  • Develop understanding of territory analysis, budgeting, and margin etc. to drive ownership within the Sales Representative team
  • Proactively develops and maintains professional business relationships with customer contacts.
  • Makes sales calls, seeks to develop strategic sales opportunities with new and existing customers to generate new avenues of revenue.
  • Assists in negotiation of contracts regarding price, delivery, specifications, and design to provide plant with maximum profit opportunity.
  • Present information on the company’s manufacturing capability and performance to current customers and potential customers.
  • Act as first escalation point within the Sales Team to abate customer service issues
  • Manage all administrative functions related to customer satisfaction from order entry to delivery of finished product. Pareto drivers to work turn backs to identify process continuous improvement opportunities.

ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • Assume responsibility for key customer accounts as the main point of contact for all Account Management duties.
  • Performing daily interactions with identified customers to accept and input purchase orders and delivery requirements for approved customer schedules and new orders
  • Proactively communicate to customers for status and delivery updates by working cross functionally to ensure operations and raw material requirements are in line to support customer needs
  • Review new PO contractual flowdown for adherence to Wyman Gordon accepted terms and conditions
  • Support Customers calls and meetings well prepared to answer questions and represent the Wyman Gordon Brand
  • Manage Customer portals and perform order book downloads. Compare customer schedules against existing open order book. Advise Sales Representative / Account Manager to resolve and reconcile any open issues.
  • Should have a general understanding of shipping procedures including Export Compliance requirements
  • Willingness to learn a working knowledge of Aerospace compliance for Quality and Control AS9100 / ISO and Sox Compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements – Education/Experience:

  • College degree in engineering, business or equivalent experience preferred, including a working knowledge of forged products and manufacturing processes.
  • Preferred candidate has Aerospace or Commercial Fitting background.
  • Incumbent must be enthusiastic, detail oriented, organized, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management.
  • Good PC skills, including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including experience with pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
  • Strong Analytical skills
