Job Description:
STS Technical Services is seeking a skilled and results-driven Business Development Manager (Electric Vehicles) to join our team. This remote position focuses on driving growth through strategic planning and execution to expand the electric vehicle product line. The role involves the overall commercial development of our EV products and programs, reporting to the Senior Director of Sales & Marketing. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans, programs, and marketing initiatives to achieve company goals and objectives for electric vehicles.
  • Lead programs to support the client’s dealer network’s success in representing EV products, including EV sales training and demo programs.
  • Oversee supporting EV programs such as infrastructure and grant initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the client’s engineering team to ensure optimal product knowledge and customer requirements road mapping.
  • Gain technical knowledge and understanding of new EV and autonomous products, taking full responsibility for their market introduction, including training, support, and demo fulfillment.
  • Develop electric truck sales programs and tools, supporting the client’s Regional Sales Team with EV-related inquiries and customer interactions, aiming for a 40 share of the EV Terminal Tractor market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions to meet those needs.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Manage market share data, analysis, and strategic plans for growth.
  • Utilize market insights and trends to provide cost-efficient logistics solutions to customers.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other teams to align sales efforts with overall company objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and best practices to continuously improve sales strategies and tactics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or similar role, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Experience as a high-level key account manager.
  • Capacity and aptitude to learn emerging technologies, represent those chosen for clients, and evaluate/recommend other technologies for consideration.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated and tenacious, with a passion for exceeding goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Technical aptitude for heavy equipment; some knowledge of engineering is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial equipment sales and support, with an emphasis on electrified vehicles and/or major account fleet sales.
