Role Introduction

Reports To: Head of Cargo Digital

This role is critical to support the Head of Cargo Digital in analysing the needs and opportunities for Cargo as a whole on digital transformation, formulating the cargo digital strategy and development roadmap as well as executing the relevant initiative aligning with CX overall digital strategy. He/she is also responsible for enabling new generation cargo commercial planning and operations through technologies to improve end to end commercial and customer strategy design and execution; and to enable customer experience and operational excellence improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct proactive research on new tech development and monitor industry digitization trend. Conceive potential applications and use cases for CX Cargo, liaise with IT and concerned parties to conduct proof of concept (POC) or technology (POT) in an agile manner and make recommendation for future developments.
  • Work closely within the Cargo Digital to ensure a holistic view on digital transformation and analytics, identify potential synergy and ensure data requirements are well accommodated in any new Cargo digital transformation initiative.
  • Work closely with the Cargo teams to come up with business requirements on digital transformation with clear business objectives. Develop or support BU to develop business case for new projects with sound justifications and collaborate with IT and FIN to go through the project approval process and project structure design.
  • Act as the BU project manager for Cargo digital transformation projects, work closely with IT project managers and project team members to ensure projects are being well managed, objective and benefits are being achieved and in compliance with CX project governance. Be responsible for change management and ensure business readiness for project cutover.
  • Act as the product manager for digital products, work closely with product team and relevant business teams for continuous product discovery and delivery, to ensure products deliver values and objectives being achieved.
  • Establish and maintain excellent communication and partnership with key stakeholders such as Cargo business units, Digital & IT, GLSHK, Cathay Cargo Terminal, customers, industry bodies, airports and government authorities, etc.
  • Represent CX Cargo in industry working groups or advisory boards, to promote CX preferred approach toward the development of industry initiatives and protect the best interest of the company.
  • Responsible for the people upskilling in CGO on digital project and solution development, and build up CGO internal system and process expertise to enable sustainable innovation development.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the field of air cargo, logistics industry, IT or digital.
  • Strong change management, vendor management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Possesses project management experience. Project Management certification (e.g. PMP) is a plus.
  • Experience in product management. Product Manager / Product Owner certification is a plus.
  • Experience working with Agile projects. Agile or Scaled Agile certification is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, problem solving, organising and time management skills with the ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple tasks within defined time constraints.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to interact with people at all levels and from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Great team player with strong leadership and management skills
  • Good command of both spoken and written English.
  • Able to work independently and proactively to drive initiatives and actions.
  • Understanding of latest industry digital developments and trends.
  • Experience working in a large complex organisation.
