The salary range for this position is $27.00 to $33.00 per hour

 

Position Summary:

 

The Chemical Processing Technical Lead is responsible for execution of the scheduled work on a daily basis, across both shifts within their department. In addition, they must ensure the required staff and support is applied to achieve this in a reasonable timeframe. The Lead is expected to organize the work assignments to match the skill of the operators with the jobs to be performed, so that the highest quality and maximum productivity is achieved.  The Lead must facilitate safe practices throughout the entire department and resolve technical issues for all operators while providing the interface for them with all support personnel (i.e. Engineering, Production Supervisor, Human Resources, Maintenance, and Quality.)

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

• The Chemical Processing Lead in each area ensures their operators know the plan for the day, including at minimum: Ship list, time limit coordination, Rework, and expedite/escalations for their department.


• Assures company policies are up held in their areas.  (Safety equipment – safety glasses, hearing protection if required, etc.; no cell phones, break times, smoking policy, etc.)


• The Chemical Processing Lead works closely with Department Technical Lead to resolve issues and requests direction from Production Manager if schedule or instructions cannot be executed in their current form.


• The Chemical Processing Lead ensures necessary tools, materials, and documentation are available for the current and next tasks, and coordinates with Department Technical Lead on supply ordering to ensure appropriate on hand stock.


• The Chemical Processing Lead ensures the documentation in use is accurate and up to date. They are responsible for maintaining Daily Job Card Audits within their area, and assisting department technical lead with any containment and actions implemented based on results.


• The Chemical Processing Lead is responsible for review of Dispatch Lists and ensuring jobs in department queue are present and ready for processing.


• Reports promptly to department managers and production department when delays occur, estimates time of delay and when operations will be resumed.


• Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)) The Chemical Processing Lead will coordinate closely with department technical lead and assist in RCCA and immediate containment for each rejection from their area, and report to results to Quality


• Is committed to running department efficiently, and communicating productivity metrics to all team members to achieve team goals.  Assures operations are run efficiently and works with team members to develop processes with a focus on continuous improvement.


• Assists in interviewing applicants for department jobs and recommends candidates to department technical lead for hiring.  Conducts Department Specific training of new hires and their safety training on shift.

 

• Use inspection equipment to verify that all specification/route card requirements are met. Train employees that report to lead as required.

 

• Work with technical lead to develop, implement and prove out new product and technologies.

 

• Oversee 6s in their area. Make sure 6s checklists are followed and signed off daily and that work centers are left neat and organized between shifts.  Understand and follow the safety rules including keeping a neat and clean work area.

 

• Leads will be required to assign a trainer and document training on appropriate forms

 

• Leads will be required to coordinate with department technical lead to perform reviews for individuals on their team.

 

• Leads are required coordinate with technical lead to initiate discipline with employees on their team per company policies.

 

Position Requirements:

 

• Associate’s degree or higher in a manufacturing discipline, or a graduate of a trade school, or equivalent industry experience.


• N/A (Industry Specific Training welcome. Ex: NASF, AS9100, or PRI/Nadcap trainings)


• Chemical Processing/Surface Finishing Experience; Management Experience

 

• Strong technical skills in both Chemical Processing and Surface Finishing.  Excellent people skills and willingness to work in a team environment.   Strong communication skills.


Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
