Summary The Commercial Manager leads the inside sales team and is responsible for the development and execution of strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives. This position is also responsible for product and pricing management to meet customer requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as managing Commercial product profitability across NH. Essential Functions Leads the Insides Sales team to generate optimal sales volume and profitability. Identify synergies between groups to assure improvements in Customer Service Levels – speed and accuracy. Coordinate, synchronize, and reinforce PCC Tool Box, Policies and Procedures across team to assure Trade Compliance, SOX compliance, NST, and ECON consistency. Evaluate, motivate, and manage the performance of the Inside Sales team relative to their positions, responsibilities, requirements, accounts, and related assignments. Resolve customer claims to secure maximum profitability for the company. Support the Outside Sales representatives & Account Managers in the generation of new sales leads and opportunities to best load the site, while managing capacities in conjunction with plant leaders. - Assists plant leaders with production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity.
- Analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
Manage key pricing and capability strategy to increase market price and further develop market share. Develop and coordinate technology enhancements to improve Sales Support effectiveness. Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, bridges, and pricing strategy to ensure product line profitability and optimal loading of the facility. Manages customer interaction with the sales team to support plant shipments. Additional Responsibilities - Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate.
Education and Experience Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, or related field. Advanced business degree such as an MBA, is preferred. - 8-10 years of overall business experience.
Special Skills Able to write and present papers and articles representing the Metals Group operation and capabilities. Proficient in dealing at senior levels of an organization. Excellent communication and negotiating skills. Strong, demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to recruit train and develop sales resources. Business and Financial analysis skills to evaluate and assess business opportunities, profitability; good understanding of cost, and ability to calculate and quote required profit margins. Fully proficient in use of Microsoft Office products and other computer applications as utilized by the company. Demonstrated ability to enter, retrieve, communicate and research information; prepare reports or sales presentations; efficient and accurate in keyboarding skills. Provide regular intelligence, leadership and communication with respect to competitive challenges, and changes within market and or changes affecting customer base allowing Special Metals time to address challenges and/or seize new opportunities. Work Environment – Work 75 of time in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Work the remaining 25 of time in manufacturing environment or travel to plant and customers . While performing duties in manufacturing environment, employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals or risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat (non-weather) and vibration. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually moderate.
