The Competence & Training Manager plays a vital role within easyJet, reporting to the Head of Integrated Management and working under the direction of the Director of Safety, Security & Compliance. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, deliver, and maintain the competency and training processes for easyJet’s management system, ensuring that the company meets its safety, security, and compliance goals. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teams across easyJet to ensure that all regulatory and company competency requirements are fully understood and complied with. This includes responsibilities for regulatory safety, security, and health & safety competencies within the management system.
In addition to overseeing the training framework, the manager is tasked with driving continuous improvement in management system competencies, ensuring that the training library is current, effective, and efficient. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date manuals, procedures, and training resources, as well as producing reports on training status and competency data. You will deputise for the Head of Integrated Management as needed, ensuring that easyJet maintains a high level of compliance with competence and training requirements across all relevant areas.
What you need to do this role
Expertise in training strategy is crucial, along with experience in designing and delivering training packages. Strong visual presentation skills and proficiency in tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint are required, as is the ability to manage projects and communicate effectively at all levels. You should be detail-oriented, capable of identifying key issues, and confident in promoting change and innovation within the organisation. Experience in training design and delivery, communication plans, and familiarity with aviation regulations or safety management systems is highly desirable.
You will have strong leadership and motivational skills, able to engage and influence subject matter experts and line managers across departments. Excellent interpersonal abilities, coupled with proven experience in meeting deadlines, are essential. The role demands a proactive, forward-facing individual with a "can-do" attitude, capable of building and managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Location & Hours of Work
This is a full-time 40 hour per week position. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office in Luton.
