A vacancy for a Change and Configuration Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space to join our Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Defence Test and Reference Centre in Blandford, Dorset.

Reporting directly to the System Design Authority you will be responsible for managing the configuration baseline and the supporting change management process for a number of CIS capabilities that underpin testing and assessment of MOD deployable communications.  

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Management of the Change Proposal processes, taking a leading role on the Change Configuration Board and Change Configuration Committee for the Centre.

  • Maintaining the Hardware and Software Configuration Management processes following industry best practice and ISO 9001 standards.  

  • Maintaining the baseline of all Configuration Items (CIs) of hardware, software, licensing and associated documentation used within the Centre. 

  • Liaising with and monitoring 3rd party vendors to ensure changes to equipment hardware, software and licensing is understood and impacted against the LSRC capability.

  • Maintaining an auditable CI relationship register to ensure hardware to software to licence relationships are defined, allowing this register to be used to drive areas such as; obsolescence management, licence renewal and firmware updates to be scheduled.

ABOUT YOU

  • Change Management standards and frameworks, such as; ISO 9001 and 10007:2003, IEEE 828 and ITIL.

  • Software licence management, vendor licensing models, such as Microsoft’s Volume Licencing and Cisco’s Smart Licencing, and supporting EULAs.

  • Hardware management and the support and warranty agreements required to manage them.

  • Experience of working within a Change Management environment and tools, frameworks and processes to support the environment.
