Job Description:
As Director Contracts you will provide oversight and leadership for the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and management of assigned government and commercial contracts. Youll direct all phases of the contract management process from inception through completion including preparing, reviewing, and approving all proposal and contractual documents to ensure protection of the companys contractual posture, satisfaction of contract specifications and requirements, identification of risk factors, and adherence to company policy, as well as appropriate laws and regulations. You will also oversee the development and implementation of systems, standards, and mechanisms that guide contracting lifecycle activities to consistently deliver effective solutions to customers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintains close, embedded professional interface with internal and external customers.  
  • Supervises work produced by contracts team to ensure consistent high quality performance
  • Works with internal customers (program managers, program directors, etc. ) ensuring all communication with external customers is concise and consistent from both technical and contractual personnel
  • In coordination with corporate counsel, reviews NDAs, Teaming Agreements, Consultant Agreements and other strategic documents.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and prompt execution of agreements and executive summaries - ensuring protection of SNC interests in all agreements
  • Responsible for ensuring that all contract documents, data, deliverables, funding, etc. are posted to SharePoint; to include the development and updates to Contract-specific matrix
  • Works with Director, Subcontracts to validate the two organizations are communicating and effectively flowing down all applicable terms and conditions and payment clauses
  • Provide training to contracts team on a variety of Government Contracts topics

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field of Study
    • Relevant experience may substitute for required education
  • 15&43; years of experience with Government contracting
  • Progressive knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following disciplines: contracts administration, proposal management, business administration, law
  • Proven experience and technical expertise in the application of government contract administration principles, concepts, and practices as well as comprehensive contract management and leadership skills
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliance, and commercial contract rules and regulations
  • Mastery of the ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo and demonstrate ability to adapt to dynamic situations
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms; ability to tailor conversations to adapt to technical vs. non-technical audiences
  • Previous management experience of a contracts team; ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated passion for ideation and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex technical and program interdependencies
  • Possess a strategic mindset, linking technology and business
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry,  the US Department of Defense (Civilian), NASA/Civil or commercial space  and/or US Military, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets
  • Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) certification and/or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $186,100.35 - $255,887.98. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
