What the position is:
The Director of MRO Operations is responsible for the comprehensive management of our aircraft component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul operations, ensuring adherence to 14 CFR 145 repair shop regulations. In this crucial position, you will be at the helm of production, scheduling, logistics, inspection, and certification processes. Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as regulatory authorities across different organizational tiers, you will report directly to the Vice President of Maintenance, with a secondary reporting line to the Chief Operating Officer. This role presents a distinct opportunity to significantly contribute to our success and regulatory compliance efforts.
Essential functions:
- Oversee Maintenance Repair and Overhaul work conducted under 14 CFR 121 or 145 repair shop
- Demonstrate operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Accountable for the Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities described in the Companys SMS Manual and Title 14 CFR Part 5.23.
- Lead the development and implementation of improvement projects through cost/benefit analysis, Theory of Constraints, e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma
- Oversee and provide leadership to maintenance base personnel
- Coach, develop, and engage teams to create seamless operations to maximize productivity
- Drive a proactive quality mindset and production process
- Implement process flow using best practices across operations and supply chain using ERP/MRP process
- This person will provide leadership and development of staff on key areas such as operational demands, TAT, budget, quality, and continuous improvement.
General requirements & qualifications:
- Prefer ten (10) years prior industry experience, ideally MRO
- Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
- Able to communicate and make presentations to all levels within an organization
- Ability to recruit, develop, and engage a team
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence, and lead
- Practical experience with Continuous Improvement Tools
- Ability to assist in spaneting services to third party
- May be required to perform additional duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with 14 CFR 145, repair shop
- A&P License
- Demonstrated ability to establish and mature a Continuous Improvement culture
- Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Logistics and Quality experience preferred
- Certifications and demonstrated abilities for continuous improvement
