As the Director of Operations, you will oversee, plan, direct, and coordinate the overall service of LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engine operations to meet our established goals and objectives. Your role will involve refining and enhancing operations policies, procedures, and systems, including reviewing, updating, and creating local procedures related to operations. You will also play a key role in developing and coordinating performance, efficiency, and product quality standards that affect all Strategic Business Units (SBUs), production cells, and supply cells.

What you’ll do:

  • Directs and prioritizes engine shop activities to ensure timely cycle times, high-quality maintenance, and overall organizational profitability.
  • Achieves goals by developing and leading a skilled operations team focused on production planning, scheduling, quality control, staff development, and employee relations.
  • Estimates and provides maintenance quotes for potential customers through dedicated Customer Project Managers, serving as the subject matter expert to address technical inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with quality assurance, engineering, materials, customer service, sales, and finance to address complex issues and ensure that operational standards and goals are met.
  • Monitors and evaluates various performance metrics, including output, delivery dates, cycle times, labor, quality, staffing, facility use, budget, and financial performance, and leads efforts to resolve problems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Controls production costs by setting standards, implementing process improvements, and initiating cost-saving programs.
  • Ensures all Engine Shop employees receive comprehensive training, including technical, safety, and company policy-related instruction.
  • Conducts regular assessments of equipment, space, and staffing needs based on sales forecasts.
  • Analyzes operations to ensure cost-effectiveness as changes in technology, regulations, and company policies are implemented.
  • Participates in management teams to help develop and implement strategic plans, budgets, goals, and outcomes.
  • Manages all aspects of direct reports’ employment, including hiring, training, career development, performance evaluations, salary adjustments, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinates continuous improvement projects with operations to maximize financial impact and benefits across multiple business units.
  • Implements best practices to enhance efficiency, minimize downtime, and improve turnaround times.
  • Ensures adherence to KPIs, standards, and policies set by the StandardAero COO’s office.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Promotes a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Builds and sustains strong customer relationships, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  • Addresses customer concerns and resolves complex technical issues effectively.
  • Maintains clear communication with customers about project status and timelines.
  • Prepares financial reports and provides strategic insights to senior management.
  • Identifies opportunities for growth and develops strategies to expand the MRO business.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business administration or a related discipline (CIM, CPIM, APICS); or equivalent.
  • Masters of business Administration preferred.
  • Several years of management experience in a manufacturing and/or remanufacturing environment.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of PCs in the current company operating system environment.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • Working knowledge of company instructions, company processes, administrative policies and procedures, and export compliance regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Several years in an organizational leadership role with delivered and sustainable results.
  • Supervisory experience in an engine MRO environment and experience in aviation gas turbine engine test cell operations. FAA A&P license preferred.
