Job SummaryReporting to the AVP, Talent Management, the Director, Talent Acquisition serves as a member of the Human Resources (HR) senior leadership team and has responsibility for establishing and implementing NAV CANADA’s Talent Acquisition strategy and related programs and to develop a talent acquisition pipeline that will enhance the recruitment of a diverse and high performing talent aligned with NAV Canada business goals and culture.

In this role you will:

  • Develops and implements the overall talent acquisition strategy aligned with the organization&39;s business objectives as well as the execution of the employer branding strategy and action plans to position the organization as an employer of choice.
  • Benchmarks and innovates candidate sourcing strategies by leveraging available trends, tools and best practices.
  • Consult with various department leads to provide proactive and strategic guidance and support for organizational planning of future talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Leads, mentors, engages and manages a high-performing talent acquisition team and provides guidance on recruitment best practices, performance metrics, and professional development.
  • Oversee the development and facilitation of in-house training workshops.
  • Identifies and communicates the actions needed to implement the function’s talent acquisition strategy across the company; establishes and implements plans to identify critical future skills for the achievement of NAV CANADA’s business goal.
  • Implements innovative sourcing techniques to attract diverse and high-quality candidates and ensures that company-wide hiring targets are exceedingly met according to plan, and that changes/deviations are proactively communicated to executives. 
  • Supports the organization’s diversity and inclusion objectives through targeted partnerships and by overseeing program design, implementation, and program management that attract diverse candidates.
  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the talent acquisition function.
  • Leads standardization activities to ensure that NAV CANADA assessment tools meet internal quality standards and, relevant, legal requirements and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Researches and communicates market trends and best practices that support effective talent strategies, contributing to the team’s ability to make data and insights-driven decisions.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of experience, training and education
  • A Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a senior talent acquisition role
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in effectively leading teams and inspiring others to achieve goals, with the ability to mentor and develop an engaged team
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving a programs/projects against KPIs through to completion
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders of management up to C-Suite
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other relevant HR technologies.
  • Significant experience in developing and scaling recruitment sourcing strategies,
  • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting and employer branding initiatives
  • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, employment laws, and market trends.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and program delivery principles and best practices.
