What You Will Do:
As the Manager of the Afterspanet & Sustainment Engineering (ASE), Military Engine Distress Trending & Repair Initiation (DTRI) team, you will lead a high-performing team to identify military engine repair needs, evaluate their cost effectiveness, obtain customer concurrence, develop Ground Rules and release them for repair development.
The DTRI team currently consists of 4 direct reports, plus 3 team members in OKC ELMT, 3 team members in PWPR, and 4 outsourced members. DTRI works closely with a cross-functional ASE team inclusive of Design, Project, Part Family Leads, Tooling, Validation, and Programs, as well as interacting with other P&W functions such as CIPT, CAIPT, Logistics Program Management, Repair Integration, and Eagle Supply.
The repairs that DTRI identifies, and initiates help to keep the US military flying, protecting America, and also save the US taxpayer millions of dollars.
Responsible for the strategic vision of the DTRI team that will define future opportunities in data gathering and analysis, tracking and documentation, and digital tools needed to perform the activities of the team that will improve how we work and what we are able to deliver to our customers.
Responsible for identifying improvement opportunities and guiding the development of new tools for processing data to identify repair needs, working in collaboration with the ASE Methods team.
Coordinate documentation of new processes, and revisions to existing processes, to ensure comprehensive and current EKS documentation.
Manage team member responsibilities to provide a balanced workload and foster technical development.
Review, along with other team members, Repair Assessment Worksheets (RAW), Cost Effectivity Analysis (CEA), and Ground Rules to ensure well developed, appropriate and logical content before sending the documents into the approval cycle.
Manage the trending of component distress modes, utilization of roadmap processes, and related activities to effectively predict repair development needs.
Manage data preparation and participation in periodic LPM or CAIPT spares planning events such as Deep Look.
Work closely with ASE Program Management to ensure a healthy waterline of repair tasks are available to meet program requirements.
Support to the training and technical development of DTRI team members.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 10+ years of experience managing or supporting engineering or manufacturing or 7+ years with an advance degree
7+ years demonstrated leadership and successful project management
US citizenship is required due to government program requirements
10 Travel
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with direct supervisory responsibilities
Experience in the Aerospace industry
Experience with direct interaction with US Government customers
Demonstrated understanding of Earned Value Management
Experience developing manufacturing or repair tooling
Advanced degree in a technical or business field
Demonstrated experience in developing high performance teams

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
