FACILITIES PROJECT MANAGER (STARLINK)

As a Facilities Project Manager at our Starlink Production facility, youll be an integral part of a dynamic team focused on maintaining and optimizing essential infrastructure. Working collaboratively with engineers and specialists across various disciplines, youll lead the implementation of facility improvements and the development of efficient systems and processes. In this fast-paced and innovative environment, your role will be pivotal in driving transformative changes to ensure the facility remains at the forefront of technology. With a focus on end-to-end ownership of tasks and projects, youll contribute to creating a world-class facility capable of supporting our mission to connect people worldwide and enable life beyond Earth. This position is based in Bastrop, Texas (Greater Austin, TX Area)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategies for maintaining and upgrading existing facilities to ensure optimal operational efficiency and functionality
  • Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to establish preventative maintenance programs, including schedules, procedures, and spare parts inventory, to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility equipment
  • Project manage facility upgrades and renovations, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations
  • Drive initiatives to enhance safety protocols and compliance within the facility, including conducting regular safety audits and implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Lead blitz programs focused on improving efficiency, reducing waste, and maximizing uptime through process improvements and equipment optimization
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to facility maintenance and upgrades, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and timeline
  • Develop and maintain documentation and records related to facility systems, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Health & Safety, and Environmental Compliance, to address facility-related issues and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and technologies related to facility management, and incorporate relevant advancements into operational strategies
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the status of facility projects, maintenance activities, and performance metrics
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or engineering related discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience in construction, engineering, or facilities management

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience with project management of major construction projects, including estimating, cost control, and contractor management
  • Proficiency in a project management software
  • Knowledge of MEP systems and building infrastructure, with experience in conceptual design and budgeting
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations, such as the National Electric Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and International Building Code
  • Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under extended work hours and tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate project stakeholders effectively
  • Strong understanding of construction project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor management

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical ability to perform hands-on work in various environments, including heat, cold, rain, and tight quarters
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required by project needs
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Valid driver's license

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Facilities Project Manager/Level I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year
Facilities Project Manager/Level II: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.
