Job Title: Fleet Manager
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Technical Operations and Maintenance Control
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Liaison with departments that monitor Aircraft Health (AHM), Engine Health (EHM), and System Health to improve/maintain high reliability of the Kalitta Air fleet.
- Recommend actions for process improvement to optimize Fleet performance.
- Responsible for coordination of personnel in outstations in regards to maintaining the Kalitta Air fleet, and compliance of company policies and procedures contained in the GMM.
- Coordinate with Tech Services Department to analyze repeat items and develop solutions to reduce failures.
- Responsible for the procurement and assignment of fleet tooling. Ensure outstation tooling is available with proper quantity and location.
- Coordinate and communicate reliability and fleet projects with other Kalitta Air Departments and Director of Maintenance.
- Implement SMS-related risk assessment, risk reduction and safety enhancement processes and improvement initiatives for the fleet.
- Analyze mechanical difficulty reports and identify any changes to enhance station efficiency.
- Coordinate with CASS and Materials Department to identify fleet vendor issues.
- Analyze expenses and operational requirements to manage the budget accordingly.
- Coordinate with required departments to ensure effective completion of maintenance, preventative maintenance, alteration, and repair of company aircraft and support equipment.
- Assist in the development of maintenance programs and modifications in order to improve efficiency and cost control for fleet.
- Oversee the creation of forecasts for material and logistics for all check levels in conjunction with material planning.
- Attend required fleet meetings for the procurement of fleet data.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Technical Operations and Maintenance Control.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid A&P Certificate, experience working Heavy Transport Aircraft preferably 747-400, 767 and 777 aircraft, be able to use and understand wiring
diagrams, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals and parts manuals, have good computer skills and verbal communication skills as well. Maintenance Control experience is required.
Have at least 5 years of experience maintaining the same category and class of airplanes operated by Kalitta Air
Must be appropriately certificated under 14 CPR Part 65 FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate
Individual must be organized and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Must have US Passport Must be a US Citizen
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
