Position Summary:


The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the FBOs operations and supervises its employees. The General Manager is responsible for the direct management of all aspects of the FBO including: line operations, fuel sales, hangar sales, new business development, customer retention, quality control, human resources, and environmental and safety compliance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Address employee relations issues.
  • Hands-on day-to-day management of all FBO operations.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis to include pricing, selling points and product offerings.
  • Manage people and facilities in accordance with owner´s policies and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Create new opportunities by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and the local airport administration.
  • Financial management of the FBO including gross margins, capital expenditures, budgeting, forecasting and expense management.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; conduct merit and performance reviews; plan, assign, and direct work while ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Ensure employees receive company communication and necessary training to include safety, customer service standards, company values, etc. as well as ensuring training and development of employees to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.
  • Be authorized signer for Cutter Aviation and encompass duties as it pertains to City of Phoenix SIDA privileges and Cutter Aviation
  • Authorize Letters of Verification to tenants for badging Sponsorships to Human Resources
  • Other duties as required.
Job Requirements:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

  • 3-5 years of progressive FBO management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based applications.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to positively relate and communicate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation Management or related field or equivalent OJT.
  • Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Must process the competencies of leadership, entrepreneurship, negotiation, influence, operational decision making and customer orientation.
  • Must be able to effectively present information to top management, subordinates, public groups, and/or boards via telephone, in written form, or in person.

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee is regularly required to use oral and written communication skills; read and interpret complex data; thoroughly analyze and solve problems; exercise sound judgment in the absence of specific guidelines; use math and mathematical reasoning; establish priorities and work on multiple assignments and projects concurrently; meet intense and changing deadlines given continual interruptions; and interact appropriately with staff, management, local officials, media, and others in the course of work.
  • The employee typically works in office conditions; the noise level is usually quiet. However, the employee is occasionally exposed to loud aircraft engine noise, and dust and fumes, while inspecting properties and accompanying parties on airport tours. Occasional driving is required to attend meetings at various facilities, meeting sites, and public and private events

  • Clean driving record.
