Job Summary
Responsible for the oversight of in-plane fueling and tank farm management operations in YUL and YMX. Lead, develop, and drive the overall strategic and business plan. Direct the implementation of all corporate objectives, strategies, plans, and industry standards. Make recommendations and drive business decisions in the areas of operations, safety, quality control, GSE, and commercial. To help set quality & safety standards and assist station management with implementing programs and meeting or exceeding those goals. Develop and maintain a close and effective working relationship with all management to fully support their operational efforts.
Job Description
- Lead the operational and financial management of the fuel consortium, including the preparation and administration of annual operating budgets for review and approval by the Fuel Consortium Chairperson and members.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels across fuel operations to maintain safe, efficient, and reliable service delivery while remaining aligned with budgetary targets and operational demands.
- Oversee all aviation fuel operations activities, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, environmental regulations, and applicable federal and airport authority requirements.
- Investigate equipment damage, fuel-related incidents, spills, personal injuries, and operational accidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risk and improve operational performance.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with aviation petroleum handling procedures, emergency response plans, preventive maintenance programs, and regulatory training requirements.
- Ensure all employees complete mandatory operational, safety, environmental, and regulatory training, maintaining accurate qualification and training records.
- Monitor fuel inventory management, quality control processes, hydrant systems, fuel farm infrastructure, and preventative maintenance programs to ensure operational reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain strong working relationships with consortium members, airline customers, airport authorities, regulatory agencies, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Support labour relations activities and partner closely with Human Resources and union representatives to foster employee engagement, accountability, and operational stability.
- Manage attendance, performance, and workforce productivity while ensuring adherence to company policies and collective agreements.
- Drive operational excellence by monitoring and achieving key performance indicators related to safety, aircraft servicing, operational reliability, environmental compliance, on-time performance, and financial performance.
- Ensure prompt response and corrective action regarding operational infractions, procedural breaches, or safety concerns within fuel operations.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, cost control, service quality, and overall fuel operations performance.
Your profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum operations, fuel facilities, tank farms, pipeline operations, aviation fueling, or a similar industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of fuel handling, storage, quality control, environmental compliance, and operational safety standards.
- Hands-on experience with tank farm operations, fuel distribution systems, pipelines, preventative maintenance, and fuel-related equipment.
- Proven leadership experience managing frontline operational teams in fast-paced, safety-sensitive environments.
- Strong operational management, workforce planning, and people leadership capabilities.
- Experience working in unionized environments and managing labor relations effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate across operations, maintenance, customers, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong technical aptitude with fuel systems, industrial equipment, and operational processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, operational reporting tools, and time & attendance systems.
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to service quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage conflict, make decisions under pressure, and meet operational deadlines.
- Available to support emergency response, crisis management, and operational callouts as required.
