Primary Objective of the Position:

The GSE Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the operation and team productivity. Coordinating priorities with the local station managers and assigning the team to achieve the goals of the GSE team in service commitments and equipment reliability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate daily activities of the GSE Department and Contract Maintenance for multiple locations.
    • Support the management of the station fleet, including refining the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMI) to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
    • Coordinate inspections, repairs and maintenance services to obtain maximum utilization of equipment.
    • Works with station managers to ensure timely attention to GSE work, parts ordering and control purchasing cost.
    • Maintain all location(s) in compliance per companys standards and expectations under the GSE program;
    • Collaborate with the Base Manager and operational teams to develop customized strategies aimed at improving station performance and achieving cost control, aligning with station objectives.
    • Direct preparation of work schedules to ensure optimum utilization of the team, equipment and facilities.
    • Support the procurement of all types of company owned and operated ground support equipment.
    • Perform personnel actions such as training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, performance appraising, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Oversee inventory control processes, including storage and restocking of spare parts, in accordance with company procedures to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure all tooling and shop equipment meet company standards for safety and functionality, facilitating efficient maintenance operations.
    • Ensure proper processing of unserviceable material in accordance with company policies and local environmental regulations to mitigate risks and liabilities.
    • Ensure compliance with established company and government safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
    • Strong troubleshooting and demonstrated leadership skills in the workplace required.
    • Ability to communicate with customers, team members and serve as a team player under all types of conditions is required.
    • Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety policies, procedures and standards.
    • Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
    • Perform any other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must have 3 years of Supervisory experience
    • A 310T (Truck and Coach Technician) License is preferred
    • Ability to use computer- Word, Excel, Nitro
    • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving abilities
    • Able to multi- task and work well under pressure
    • Willing to travel to various bases on demand
    • Must be self-motivated and have excellent communication skills

    Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:

    • Thorough knowledge of GSE maintenance procedures and inspection systems
    • Knowledge of GSE materials and parts.
    • Knowledge of safety precautions and fire prevention.
    • Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments and test equipment.
    • Ability to pass written exams required by the provincial Ministry.

    Location & Work Environment:

    • Required to work in a hangar or outdoors.
    • Required to work in Restricted areas at Airports.

    Physical Standards:

    Physically capable of performing the duties assigned with no accommodations or restrictions.

    Key Competency Requirements:

    • Required to lift weight 50 lbs (fifty pounds) for component replacements.
    • Ability to operate high lifts, fork-lifts to gain access to aircraft.
    • Ability to work from heights and on ladders.
