JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory Management Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, guidance, and development of a group of Inventory Management Specialists, located at our Kelowna, BC and Hamilton, ON bases.  

This role has responsibility for the effective application of industry standard Inventory Management & Analysis practices, providing support to both internal and external customers.  Key responsibilities include maintaining inventory levels and controls, supporting customer contract demands within agreed specifications in accordance with business regulations, and monitoring and maintaining inventory management best practices that are required to support the business.  

With a strong focus on the oversight of established inventory management and analysis processes, the Inventory Management Supervisor is responsible for providing sound leadership and effective guidance to all staff in the Inventory Management group, in support of Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul at KF Aerospace, Kelowna Flightcraft Air Charter Fleet, and Third-Party Sales & Repairs.

The Inventory Management Group has a critical role within the company to ensure cost effective and real time accuracy for products and raw material that are supplied to support KF operations, including the effective management of all company-held inventory, including KF, Customer and Vendor-Owned Inventory.  The group must operate within Company policies/procedures to established authorization limits and to defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), which set expected process performance standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, guide, and develop Staff to ensure optimization of the Supply Chain
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Effectively communicate, internally and externally, at all levels including Senior Management
  • Develop and execute best-practice Inventory Control and Supply Chain processes in a timely and professional manner
  • Work with and develop a range of internal inventory management and supply chain management processes to maximize process affectivity and reduce overhead costs
  • Define, prepare, manage, and conclude appropriate stock levels to meet specific items and ongoing based requirements.
  • Develop and manage strong internal customer relationships in a ‘win-win’ environment which will support KF Supply Chain Management Strategies
  • Develop and Execute inventory management best practices in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain and continuously improve the definition and structure of inventory management processes to meet all KF business needs. This includes and not limited to, inventory counts, variance reporting, troubleshooting, problem solving, audit reconciliations, location structure monitoring, coordinating all Inventory Management transactions and the execution of Inventory Management best practises. 
  • Establish and monitor Inventory Counts both quarterly and annually for all KF operations in: Kelowna, BC; Vancouver, BC; Hamilton, ON; and Southport, MB
  • Complete performance reviews and interviews with the Inventory Analyst, Technical Materials Analyst, and Inventory Lead
  • Partner with Supply Chain Staff, Hangar Operations Managers, Hangar Support Supervisors and Hangar Planners to ensure effective inventory stocking methodologies, practices and controls are in place and supported to prevent stock shortages and outages throughout KF facilities and warehouses
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Hold a Certificate in Inventory Management or equivalent appropriate experience
  • Grade 12 graduate
  • Proven track record of effective Supervision
  • Minimum of 5-10 years experience as an Inventory Management professional with a proven ability to competently perform all Specific Accountabilities
  • Preferred working knowledge of aircraft industry Inventory Management standards/processes
  • Proactive problem solving and advanced trouble shooting skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills at all levels
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Office programs
  • Demonstrated use of integrated business ERP and electronic Inventory Management systems including Supply Chain Management practices
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Planning, organizing, multitasking skills and attention to detail are required
  • Able to work productively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
