PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Assistant Manager provides leadership and the day-to-day team oversight supporting the Project Manager required to successfully manage the Janitorial Services Program for Grand Coulee Dam. Communicates, sustains, monitors & ensures compliance with policies. Closely involved in the operation and compliance aspect of the project. Effectively manages resources, supplies, inspections, and team. Supports Project Manager in company initiatives on continual improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identifies, analyzes and develops improvements in productivity, quality, customer relationships, and customer service.
  • Assist Project Manager on daily tasks and management of janitorial services
  • Communicates with various Government Program, Quality, and Contracting professionals in a manner that upholds high levels of expectations.
  • Enforces processes & procedures for maintaining high standards of janitorial services, quality, reliability, and personnel safety.
  • Determines and enforces, through functional groups, services requirements in accordance with real company needs based on current regulations.
  • Builds effective teams with strong morale.
  • Enforces and communicates a clear vision to ensure line of sight to functional goals for key functional participants
  • Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules; develops solutions to functional area problems and directs work of employees assigned to business disciplines and those matrixed to various programs / projects.
  • Works as a team with Government Program Management / Teams regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Possesses a wide degree of creativity and latitude and the ability to perform tasks with a minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates an ability to work in difficult situations
  • Determines business function metrics and measures, and reports progress to the Project Manager.
  • May be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directs project function performances and performs exempt level decision making including interviewing, hiring, coaching, mentoring, guiding, disciplining, performance reviews, and performance corrections. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow up
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with all levels of Management & Supervisors.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive information on a routine basis
  • Problem solving skills using Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) techniques, tools & resources.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform; general decisions are made to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.
  • Capable of performing supply chain assessments with ordering, stocking and obtaining resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, or 10 years of management experience
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Security Clearance, if required

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $55,000- $65,000

The Yulista pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
