Job Description SummaryThis is a Systems Engineering discipline function within LCE. The Externals Module Integration Leader is a Systems Engineer performing inter and intra- module integration between, Design, PSE, Production Technologies, Repair, MCRB, TSD, other Systems functions and the Aeroderivative Engines shops network focused on NPI execution, services profitability, manufacturing support, industrialization as well as field issues resolution. Serves as primary technical expert for the LMS100 and LM9000 Externals Module (Fluids Systems, Electrical Systems and Externals Configurations), protects its integrity and drives significant technical issues to resolution. Main purpose of the role is to define and drive strategy to improve the health of the module.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Defines, optimizes, and manages intra-module, and inter-module interfaces and interactions. Including engine level sickbay or MRB support.
  • Mentorship of less experienced engineers and owner of pitcher-catcher knowledge transitions and documentation of design decisions/trades within module.
  • Collaboration with overhaul and component repair shops.
  • Module cost management and biz case preparation support in collaboration with repair and module cost leaders.
  • Coordinates rapid communication of issues (MFG, QEM, field findings, safety issues, etc.) between LCE and PT and ensures the transition of product knowledge between both teams.
  • Field issues resolution guidance and support including leadership for root cause investigations.
  • Owns technical management of Cl-I design changes, tech review and PCB inputs.
  • Defines and drives strategy to improve health of the complete LMS100 and LM9000 externals modules.
  • Demonstrates leadership adopting, deploying, and driving usage of GE Aerospace FLIGHT DECK in his/her programs and projects.
  • Establishes and monitors programs, plans and budgets to assure business needs are covered as well as customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering/design bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven experience in any of these GE Aerospace Engineering roles: Systems Engineer, design hardware owner (of externals module hardware), PSE fleet engineer, PSE module leader, repair engineer or any other GE Aerospace engineering function with strong systems level overview.
  • Strong technical expertise in any of the externals module hardware (Fluids Systems, Electrical Systems or Externals Configurations). Have proven strong technical contributions.
  • Systems integration skills/experience.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills/experience.
  • Proven strong program management skills.
  • Horizontal Leadership skills/experience.
  • Problem Solving skills/experience.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Assembly practices and manufacturing processes familiarity.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and proven experience in any of the GE Aerospace Aeroderivative product lines, preferable in LMS100 or LM9000.
  • Experience working with the Aero Alliance JV, GE Vernova and/or Baker Hughes.
  • Experience working with the GE Aerospace Aeroderivative Engines processes.
  • Prior GE Aerospace Engineering Controlled Title Holder experience or as people leader is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking skills is a plus.
