Roles and Responsibilities

  • Direct warehouse operations to receive, classify, and stock incoming goods. This includes ERP updating, managing stocking strategy, completing work order picks in a timely manner, and processing dispositioned material.
  • This job requires a people leader with ability to hire and develop talent. Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others. Work in a cross-functional team to support production operations, identify issues, and implement corrective action/sustainable solutions.
  • Participate in and lead process improvement projects, value stream mapping events, and Kaizen events/lean projects.
  • Use judgment and experience to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in manufacturing and/or material management)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or material management
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience leading people
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens.  GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics

  • 3+ years of experience leading people.
  • Experience with ERP (Oracle R12 preferred) and understanding of business KPIs around cost, inventory, and cash flow.
  • APICS Certification.
  • Ability to lead a team and influence others; strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to mentor and develop others’ technical skills and professional ability.
  • Ability to set priorities and execute schedule to achieve milestones/objectives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
