AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support.  Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No. 1 Flying Training school (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

Description/Overall purpose of the Job

Supporting the Continuing Airworthiness Manager in discharging the duties and responsibilities of the CAMO Planning department at our Oxford site. Primarily responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Planning department, prioritising and delegating tasks and demands in the course of normal business activity.

Main responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day operation and work loads of the Planning department.

  • To ensure that all appropriate legislative and company procedures are adhered to in order to ensure that the Company remains compliant and aircraft airworthy. 

  • Liaison with the Customer Support Managers, Airworthiness, Technical Records and the Maintenance Organisation to ensure a common understanding of capability and capacity.

  • Liaise with CSM’s to confirm maintenance dates with the owner/operator.

  • Provide cross functional support across the CAMO team.

  • Entry of Technical log utilisation data onto the Maintenance system.

  • Review of allocated aircraft status reports to ensure full maintenance programme compliance.

  • Identify provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft based on projected utilisation and update the maintenance planning calendar with &39;Provisional&39; maintenance dates.

  • Review material requirements against provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft.

  • Raise reservations/purchase requisitions for missing materials.

  • Participate in weekly resource planning meetings to define in/out dates for maintenance interventions aligned with manpower availability.

  • Raise aircraft scheduled maintenance orders.

  • Review of prepared work specifications and work packages for maintenance inputs to ensure that aircraft downtimes are minimised.

  • Ensure that the support and prepared documentation provided by Planning meets the needs of scheduled maintenance inputs.

  • Reset maintenance tasks in the MIS.

  • Continually improve planning process & procedures to improve overall efficiency of the Planning department.

  • Other tasks as assigned by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Good understanding of aircraft maintenance planning and material planning requirements as related to Part CAMO / A8-25 & Part 145 / A8-23.

  • Methodical with acute attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision or as part of a team.

  • Flexible work ethic focused on delivering against agreed timelines.

  • Strong team leadership.

  • Proactive - ability to recognise potential issues and apply remedial action before they raise concern or affect operations.

  • Must have high computer literacy skills and be competent with Google Docs.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of continuing airworthiness management software for the use of maintenance and materials planning.

  • Knowledge of Airbus Helicopters Products and their technical documentation.

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential

  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above or equivalent recognised qualifications (e.g. NVQ, BTEC).

Desirable

  • Aviation related degree or equivalent.

  • Aviation human factors training undertaken.

  • Recognised Part CAMO Training Course accomplished.

  • Recognised Part 145 Training Course accomplished.

Additional requirements

  • Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and meet the requirements of Export Compliance Regulations.
