What Will You Be Doing?

Manage all aspects of network capacity planning including the production of core schedule plans as well as seasonal and close-in capacity adjustments. This role is expected to manage a team of network planners by establishing goals and direction that will drive more accurate and reliable decision making

Essential Functions

  • Monitor and evaluate the existing route network and recommend capacity and/or schedule adjustments to maximize the financial performance of the entire network
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Revenue Management and others to ensure a commercially, financially, and operationally viable schedule for the airline
  • Maintain reporting and keen awareness of key competitive changes using wide ranging industry data sources and reports
  • Improve on and build models that aid in the production and optimization of capacity plans while maintaining operational targets and efficiencies
  • Establish processes and standards for the entire capacity planning team that promotes cross-collaboration efficiency between internal teams, improves reliability of work output & provides quick answers to key network questions
  • Become the authority figure for all current and future network plans and takes on role as go-to person for providing quick and accurate answers to both internal and external stakeholders to all network related questions
  • Establish targets and provide guidance for junior network planners
  • Express and defend ideas in a highly competitive environment

Other Functions

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of core planning functions
  • Staff workload management and skill development
  • Cross functioning with Scheduling, Operations, Marketing, PRM & Finance

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer studies or related aviation field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum two (2) years of airline planning and scheduling experience
  • Experience with airline data intelligence tools like Diio, ADI, etc. required
  • Experience with Sabre Schedule Manager or competing products a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert level proficiency in MS Excel, Diio and Sabre Schedule Manager, or comparable product suite
  • Strong understanding of airline financial metrics and how network decisions impact company financial and operational performance
  • Familiarity with ULCC airline planning/scheduling philosophy and practices
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate ideas to leadership
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of aircraft and aircraft performance capabilities
