The Manager, Operations Digital Solutions supports the vision of the digital transformation strategy and helps drive the implementation of digital solutions that improve operational efficiency. This person will also be responsible for driving a core innovation strategy that supports the overall branch objectives.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the continuous improvement efforts across all operational faucets with focus on automation, digitization and digitalization
  • Research and monitor technology advancements in the Air Cargo Industry to identify new business solutions 
  • Represent Cargo Ops at Industry events related to technology, digital or automation
  • Analyze the internal environment and identify/decide on improvement opportunities
  • Maintain a pipeline of innovative ideas that focus on being market leaders
  • Develop, manage and communicate the long-term vision for Operation’s Digital Transformation
  • Interpret operational/commercial needs, prepare supporting business cases and present to various levels of the organization, including the executive team
  • Translate business requirements to technical requirements and work closely with IT throughout the development of applications
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to prioritize and manage new digital initiatives, in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Collaborate with the operational and process engineering teams to review, assess, and provide guidance on the innovative digital solutions that improve operational performance and service levels
  • Build business relationships with key partners, both internally and externally, to implement innovative solutions that increase operational efficiencies, customer service and regulatory compliance
  • Represent the business during the development life cycle and ongoing enhancements of key operational systems (ex. CMS) to ensure all necessary decisions are made; can make decisions or obtain sign off
  • Follow a mix of scrum and waterfall methodologies to effectively manage several digital initiatives concurrently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma, Commerce, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering or related fields
  • Master’s in business administration (MBA) is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in the Transportation/Aerospace industry; Knowledge of IATA standards is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Systems Management or Digital Technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in Vendor/Partner Management
  • Experience in Process and Change management; Project Management Experience, PMP is an asset
  • Experience managing teams
  • Effective problem-solving and collaboration skills with highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
