Job Summary


We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Management Manager for our Germantown, MD office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 

The Supply Chain Manager will report to the Vice President of Manufacturing Operations. This individual will represent the Supply Chain Management function within cross-functional teams to support achievement of company objectives.

 


Job Responsibilities



  • Responsible for the supplier management process (i.e., Supplier Risk/Opportunity Management Plan, supplier performance, Small Business Plan development and execution, metrics, international issues, etc.) and communication of customer flow through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc. 

  • Generate Master Schedules and tactically ensure material supply and production schedules support customer deliveries and forecasted production plans.

  • Experience with Lean concepts, electro-mechanical device manufacturing, and DoD flow down requirements.

  • Coordinate with other RADA locations to develop and maintain a Global Supply Chain. 

  • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, and inventory accuracy.

  • Work with engineering and manufacturing to develop and maintain ERP based data including item masters and Bills of Material.

  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance relating to delivery and quality performance, while coordinating with Engineering and Quality. 

  • Coordinate, collect, analyze, and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot inventory, product, or production issues.

  • Conduct and support investigations of manufacturing nonconformities, recommend, develop, and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Participate in audits conducted by regulatory agencies and/or customers.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry standards - knows and follows the AS9100 quality system guidelines.

  • Perform external vendor audits to ensure ISO and/or regulatory compliance.

  • Manage a multi-discipline team

  • Create Strategic Supplier Purchase Agreements

  • Enforce company and department policies and procedures

  • Communicate and clarify departmental goals and metrics

  • Responsible for ensuring monthly budgets are not exceeded; take action to realign to plan if budgets are exceeded

  • Advise planning, engineering and drafting of item master errors, updates, or omissions in relation to mil-specs or new or obsolete items

  • Look for creative ways to improve purchasing ability to make contributions to the company’s goals

  • Improve understanding of purchasing relationship to the over-all company plans and strategy

  • Advise planning, engineering, and contracts of changes in prices or lead times that make and produce cost-prohibitive or lead times detrimental to production cycles

  • Research and analyze costing information for cost reduction

  • Evaluate dispositioned discrepancy reports, signed off by program engineers and Q.C. engineers, and submitting information to both for re-evaluation

  • Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


Job Requirements:
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in high technology, aerospace or defense or equivalent experience
  • Experience with supply chain and related systems, procurement, MPR, receiving, cost estimating, and finance in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated management skills, particularly “influence management” and “conflict resolution”
  • Experience throughout the product lifecycle from New Product Introduction through obsolescence to include:  generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, strategic supplier selection, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and DoD, ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFAR regulations
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Strong customer interface skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, program reviews, scheduling and budget control
  • Must have a successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense supply chain activities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years+ experience working with Deltek Costpoint ERP System
  • MBA, Masters in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management 
  • Experience in procurement, inventory management, planning and master scheduling in a DoD electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading a Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process (SIOP)
  • APICS Certification in CPIM or CSCP
  • Experience implementing Lean/Six Sigma; Certification preferred.
  • Experience with Supplier management and/or Subcontract management
  • Experience translating customer terms and conditions into supplier requirements and reviewing statements of work for completeness and conformance to program requirements
  • Experience working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
