Silver Airways is hiring a fulltime Manager of Revenue Accounting in Hollywood, FL who is responsible for overseeing the creation of new revenue streams and managing existing ones. This position requires analytical and strategic planning to balance inventory and demand effectively. The goal is to achieve maximization of total profit opportunities and the enhancement of client satisfaction by developing and implementing strategies to optimize revenue generation, maximize profitability, and ensure pricing and revenue recognition compliance. The role involves analyzing market trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving revenue growth through pricing, demand management, and revenue optimization techniques. Aviation or cruise line experience is required.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviewing reports on sales, profits, costs, and other business metrics to help determine pricing strategies for new products
  • Ensuring that all payments from customers are properly recorded, including clearing house, credit card payments, etc.
  • Managing a staff of accountants and other financial staff who help manage day-to-day operations
  • Working with accounting software to record revenue and keep track of accounts receivable
  • Preparing reports on sales volume and profitability 

DUTIES & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the airline and/or cruiseline industry a must!
  • Experience with Interline Agreement/Codeshare Agreements required
  • Develop and implement comprehensive revenue strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives. Continuously evaluate and optimize pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability. Conduct price elasticity analyses, monitor competitive pricing, and identify opportunities for price adjustments or value-added offerings
  • Conduct market analysis, evaluate pricing models, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and optimization
  • Establish and review KPI metrics for overall performance
  • Identify business opportunities and drive improvement through rigorous analysis and implementation of robotics
  • Lead and take ownership of ad-hoc projects as determined by senior management
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of sensitive/complex refunds with the procedure definitions required to long term automate and shift the focus on compliance testing and reporting
  • Partner with various business groups on review of transactions process, as well as take point on business initiatives which impact the revenue accounting system or pose a compliance risk for tracking and accurate financial reporting
  • Support requests from external auditors
  • Collaborate with finance and sales teams to establish revenue targets and budgets; monitor performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed
  • Revenue Recognition Compliance: Ensure compliance with revenue recognition principles and accounting standards (i.e. ASC 606). Collaborate with finance/accounting teams to establish and maintain proper revenue recognition policies and procedures. Address revenue recognition challenges and provide guidance on complex revenue transactions; update ASC 606 memos and disclosures as needed
  • Oversee the implementation and utilization of revenue management systems and tools. Ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and effective utilization of revenue management software for forecasting, pricing, and revenue analysis
  • Lead and manage a team of revenue management professionals. Set performance expectations, provide coaching and mentorship, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & SKILLS 

  • Experience in the airline and/or cruiseline industry a must!
  • Experience with Interline Agreement/Codeshare Agreements required
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of transactional accounting or processing preferred
  • Working knowledge of the chargeback process between merchants/financial institutions, and customers
  • Leadership skills: Proven track record and history of progressive career development in a managerial role. Must be an experienced leader who builds trust and engagement by cultivating genuine relationships with open communication, empathy, and tolerance
  • Proven experience with profit optimization concepts, strategies, and processes; proficiency with revenue management systems and tools
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, long-range planning and strong analytical skills are required to analyze date, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior management
  • Business acumen and understanding of market dynamics and customer behavior
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in revenue forecasting and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of revenue management principles, pricing strategies, and revenue optimization techniques
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to represent ideas succinctly and convincingly in any setting
  • Superior organization skills and able to manage multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Proven experience working in stressful high-pressure situations, making decisions, and maintaining composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Flexible to work nights and weekends, when necessary, based on business and staffing needs
  • Must have availability to travel when needed (< 5)

  • Flexible work hours – position may require evenings and weekends
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, FBI fingerprinting, and criminal history check
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and understand financial reports
