This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join the Engine Controls Systems team as a Manager (individual contributor) supporting the Power & Controls organization within Collins Aerospace. This position will be responsible for consolidating and reporting customer funded engineering spend totaling $100M in gross expense. This role also supports customer funded engineering spend which equates to an additional $150M in sales.

The selected candidate will support a cross functional leadership team such as Engineering, finance and value stream leads. They will also support all internal profit assurance discussions and provide timely and accurate financial data to support all short and long term strategic plans and initiatives.

This is a hybrid role located in Windsor Locks, CT.  Candidate must be a commutable distance to our Windsor Locks office.  Ratio of time spent at the office will be discussed with your manager. 

What You Will Do

  • Compile, analyze, and report engineering finance spend and collaborate with the business unit’s leads and finance teams to accurately forecast future spend
  • Perform financial month end close responsibilities including journal entries, entering invoicing, forecast activities including uploading to HFM, variance explanations and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Analyze actual results and provide guidance for financial risks or opportunities
  • Provide support for the Long-Range Plan and AOP process
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements of key processes
  • Provide information for rate creation and support audits
  • Collaborates with Functional and BU team and helps to develop processes
  • Participate in other related finance analysis and/or other adhoc projects as needed

What You Will Learn

  • Develop strong analytical skills by compiling and analyzing engineering finance spend, allowing you to provide insights and forecasts.
  • Learn the intricacies of the financial month-end close, including journal entries, enteringinvoicing, and balance sheet reconciliations, strengthening your attention to detail.
  • Collaborating with business unit leads and finance teams will enhance your ability to accurately forecast future spending based on historical data and trends.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract ​Required Immigration Status
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Finance experience related to financial analysis in a highly matrixed organization
  • Previous FP&A or Business Manager experience
  • Ability to flexibly work in a dynamic and changing environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
