Position Summary:

Provide supervisory leadership, efficient management and creative problem-solving in our Final Inspection department and related plant operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions. Prime responsibility to safely manufacture a quality product with minimal scrap or rework, while meeting customer specifications.
• Responsible for the safe manufacture of products, safety in the areas of supervision, and maintaining a safe work environment. Emphasizes accident prevention. Ensures that legal requirements and company safety policy are enforced.
• Plans, organizes, and supervises shift operation in accordance with production schedules and requirements of immediate supervisor in the most effective manner. Maintains total awareness of policies and procedures and assures compliance by assigned employees.
• Ensures that target earned hours are attained and budget criteria is met or beat.
• Develops, trains, and involves employees in maintaining and improving departmental efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, cooperation, and morale.
• Ensures that all employees work in a safe manner and that each employee is properly trained in all safety procedures. Ensures that good housekeeping practices are routinely followed.
• Maintains employee attendance such that adequate staffing exists to meet required production schedules.
• Works with each employee to effectively resolve concerns, gives necessary feedback on employee performance, conducts formal performance appraisals, and recommends pay increases, transfers, and promotions in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Interviews and hires qualified people in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Ensures adequate equipment and supplies are available to complete the task requested of their subordinates.
• Support process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns and reduce manufacturing losses.
• Direct the activities of an hourly team within the department and participate in department activities to meet identified goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Training:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of prior supervisor / leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior supervisory / leadership experience in a manufacturing
• Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Office, ADP, Vantage, etc.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and bring to successful completion.
• Strong team building / coaching skills
• Knowledge of 6S and Continuous Improvement principles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong propensity for excelling in a demanding environment.

Physical requirements:
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs. when needed.
• Constantly stand and walk throughout the workday.

Additional Requirements:

Must be willing to work a second / third shift schedule.


US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
