Overview

Responsible for the sourcing of aircraft related parts, equipment and supplies in order to meet departmental requirements associated with the Company’s aircraft operations and maintenance practices

Responsibilities
  • Fiduciary duty for the airline overall financial health, safety, security and compliance by supporting Maintenance planning the best available sources of supply and selection of delivery methods in alignment with the level of urgency required.
  • Ability to read Task Cards, Work Cards, Engineering Order (EO), Service Bulletins (SB) and Airworthiness Directives (AD) publications. Perform cost-benefit analysis with Engineering for EO coordination.
  • Contact vendors to negotiate price, obtain the most preferred tag and direct the method of shipment
  • Responsible for ensuring that purchased items are airworthy, have the required paperwork, and comply with company policies regarding quality, documentation and traceability. Ensures adherence to Approved Vendor Listing (AVL) and General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Monitor department KPIs and expedite open purchase orders as required
  • Communicate and support resolution of aircraft material issues in coordination with interdepartmental colleagues
  • Maintains a high-degree of cross-functional exposure and interactions from front-line employees to senior leadership
  • Supervise lower-level buyers on their duties and assignments. Ensuring tasks are completed by the required deadline and be a point of escalation for the team.
  • Attend meetings on behalf Technical Purchasing Department as assigned and during Manager absence to ensure smooth transition for airline operations.
  • Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience, within the airline industry preferred
  • APICS-certification a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be familiar with using computers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a demanding, fast-paced, and constantly changing work environment
  • Must have strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to handle escalated situations using critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

Salary Range: $59,000- $79,000

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset."
