What you can expect as a Materials Manager at West Star:

The Materials Manager will be responsible for providing centralized oversight ensuring adherence to process, procedures, and financial controls. This challenging position is key to providing aids to site leaders in managing and maintaining inventory needs.

 

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:

  • Responsible for organizational and individual growth & development of all direct reports.
  • Collaborates with operations and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements.
  • Evaluates and aids site leaders in managing and maintaining inventory needs, including shelf-life items, min/max quantities, and rotable part management.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist in training newly hired staff.
  • Manage remote teams and staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Aid in preserving traceability of part certifications at responsible locations.
  • Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste while increasing efficiencies.
  • Work with Purchasing and Finance departments on purchase order and invoice issues for parts and services received.
  • Work with Tooling Manager and other department leaders to ensure proper tracking and control of assets.
  • Assist with periodic cycle count processes and procedures to maintain inventory count accuracy and financial controls.
  • Performs special projects and/or other duties as assigned.

  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

 

Your Education:

A BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or equivalent experience required. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

 

Your Experience :

Minimum 8-10-years of materials, parts, or supply chain management experience required.

Experience with Apple and Microsoft products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets are ideal.

Proven experience in leadership and team development & training.

Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask. 

 

Your Initiative:    

We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common. Must be well organized, have a high attention to detail, strong written/verbal/analytical and interpersonal skills and the capability to work with minimal supervision.
