The Manager Workforce Planning and Analytics invests in the future of Southwests People by leading the Workforce Planning Team within the Talent & Leadership Development Department. This role will lead a Team to leverage a combination of people strategy, workforce planning, and analytical skills to support position management, headcount tracking, and pacing that align with the AOP plan. The Manager Workforce Planning and Analytics is a skilled communicator and innovative thinker who is excited to develop a Team and make a meaningful impact on position management at Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week.   • Guide and lead team members using SWA talent management practices to coach, develop, and engage employees

Responsibilities
  • Manage team and mature workforce planning capability to plan, and prioritize, across departments in partnership with FP&A and HR Business Partners
  • Lead team that supports the creation of job requisitions and helps to understand requisition demand for various Customer groups to build and develop strategies to help streamline the Workday recruiting process
  • Implement headcount strategies consistent with the Annual Operating Plan, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Implement strategy developed for supply & demand salaried forecasting, maintain headcount drivers, and recommend to department heads, FP&A, Talent Acquisition, and HR Business partners a strategic workforce plan that aligns with budget
  • Analyze workforce data and trends using tools such as Workday Adaptive Planning to inform decision-making and develop scenario planning capabilities.
  • Manage and maintain headcount plans developed for both salaried and hourly workforce planning teams using Workday Adaptive
  • Drive partnerships with HR Business Partners, Finance, and business leaders to strengthen annual headcount planning process and determine if Talent Acquisition pacing aligns with FP&A budget
  • Maintain HR data that is required for workforce planning processes, such as skills, job architecture, and position categories
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&39;s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge with salaried workforce planning & HR Data Analytics preferred
  • Knowledge with position management or other headcount planning technologies is strongly preferred
  • Skilled in developing and supporting department application solutions, evaluating the risks and benefits of different solutions
  • Skilled in understanding and meeting internal/external Stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs
  • Ability to take personal ownership to influence recommendations, judgments, actions, and decisions related to advising stakeholders
  • Ability to keep Senior Leadership up-to-date on project status considering the nuances of each internal Customer
  • Ability to marshal resources (People, materials, and support) to accomplish complex tasks
  • Ability to present compelling arguments to support decisions with data to back up proposed solutions
  • Ability to optimally engage executive audiences in diverse settings
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
    • Workforce planning and business data analysis efforts
    • Workforce Strategies and annual operation plans
    • Position Management Foundation
  • Preferred: Experience with Workday

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits

Competitive market salary from $130,750 - $145,300.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
