Our mission in Boeing Global Services (BGS) is to ensure aircraft availability and mission readiness for our customers’ fleets, offering platform-agnostic solutions in fleet sustainment, parts and distribution, digital capabilities, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), training, engineering, and modifications, as well as cabins and interiors.

Our BGS team are seeking a Product Support Program Manager (UK and Europe) in Bristol, UK. The successful candidate has the opportunity to lead a team of 17 -20 to deliver an industry leading logistics application to military and government organizations. The Program Manager will have full responsibility for managing the UK and European customer relationships, delivering implementation projects and sustainment, managing the UK support team and all aspects of operations, including Human Resources, health and safety, and security.

This is a full-time role based at Bristol with expectation of some on-site working and international travel.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for all aspects of a portfolio of implementation and sustainment projects including planning, execution, review, cost control meeting functional and technical resource needs, and customer relationship management.
  • Responsible for project quality ensuring products and services meet or exceed customer requirements.
  •  Team leadership to engage, motivate, develop and deploy staff effectively to deliver the business requirements. Communication, influencing and problem solving between all business units involved in program operations.
  • Significant amount of meeting face to face with customers and executive program level communications.

Program Management:

  • Planning, organizing, directing, and tracking all program aspects.
  • Responsible for all aspects of program success to include Profit and Loss responsibility, schedule, performance to objective and successful customer relations.
  • Prepare / present status reports as required appropriate executives.
  • Plan, direct and oversee all technical program needs working with technical leads.
  • Work with customer to determine strategic and tactical directions.
  • Resolve or manage resolution of issues and conflicts, escalating when necessary.
  • Manage and oversee IT projects including new system and / or software implementations and systems affecting programs.

  • Coordinate and directs activities of programs administrative and technical teams.
  • Monitor, track and address all resources supporting a program including staffing and scheduling resources.
  • Identify, evaluate and mitigate program risks.
  • Take general and detailed requirements and develop work estimates to include Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and Level of Estimate (LOE).

Operations Management:

  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Provide direction and feedback to employees, manage work flow and priorities for employees, performance management, and career coaching.
  • Local management and adherence to policies related to Human Resources and mandatory training compliances.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety Environmental policies.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge and experience with Ministry of Defense (MoD), military maintenance, supply transportation and or logistics systems and policies
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent IT implementations at an enterprise level
  • Ability to understand complex concepts, synthesize information from multiple sources and make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to and interact with our foreign customers
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with senior level, corporate, government and military leaders
  • Ability to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Proficient in project management methodologies (PMP or equivalent types) with a focus on developing solution driven strategy plans to active goals, implementing business requirements analysis and testing processes, and identifying timeline constraints, and risks
  • Working knowledge of IT technical disciplines related to systems architecture, operating systems, programming environments and databases
  • Familiar with knowledge of Software Development lifecycles and methodologies and approaches.
  • Minimum 10 years Program/Project Management experience with 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred
  • Develop excellent working relationships, possessing solid interpersonal skills to manage a variety of personality types including executive level contacts
  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude and leadership skills
  • Experience with project / program tracking software
  • Experience with MS Project, MS Office and CRM tools

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years related work experience, 10 years related work experience, etc.).

Work Authorisation: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom.
