Job Description:

What the position is:

The Production Control Manager at CommuteAir is responsible for the oversight and management of daily aircraft maintenance activities within the MRO facility. This role ensures all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential functions:

  • Ensure full compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS) as outlined in the company’s SMS Manual and per Title 14 CFR Part 5.23.
  • Schedule and lead aircraft pre-induction meetings and daily production meetings to coordinate with Supervisors and Inspectors on maintenance activities.
  • Oversee maintenance scheduling and completion in alignment with company policies and industry best practices, including After-Check completion reviews.
  • Assist the Director of MRO in budget preparation for mechanical staffing and tooling needs across various specialties and skill levels.
  • Manage audits of work packages pre-induction and post-service, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensure efficient task planning by organizing routine cards into work packages arranged by shift, zone, priority, and skill.
  • Track and adjust production controllers assignments and timelines as necessary, ensuring timely task completion.
  • Maintain close communication with Materials to track and ensure the availability of critical parts for maintenance checks.
  • Generate reports and performance metrics, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Enforce safety protocols and support investigations related to aircraft in C-check.
  • Oversee the preparation of production control work packages, arranging tasks by shift, zone, priority, and skill to optimize the flow of aircraft inspection.
  • Develop and communicate daily work plans for open tasks based on available resources, ensuring work aligns with the production schedule.
  • Monitor production controller assignments, ensuring timely adjustments to meet deadlines and workflow requirements.
  • Work closely with Materials to track critical items, define due dates, and coordinate alternative solutions as needed to ensure checks meet completion targets.
  • Prepare reports and performance metrics for senior management, conducting root cause analysis and defining action items for continuous improvement.
  • Uphold all safety policies, providing support for technical investigations related to aircraft in C-check and communicating workflow deviations to the Director of MRO.

General requirements & qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, or related field, or an A&P Certification with MRO experience is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Programs and Maintenance Manuals,
  • Proven experience in leadership roles, and a strong understanding of production control in an MRO environment.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills to manage complex maintenance schedules,
  • Effective communicator capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams, and be proficient in root cause analysis, reporting, and corrective action planning to maintain operational standards.
