Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Management Specialist (Senior or Senior Lead) to join the Independent Research and Development (IR&D) team in Huntsville, AL.

This position will lead the development of future products for enhancement of existing programs as well as products for entry into new programs of record. This position interfaces directly with IAMD leadership and partners with Business Development and Strategy functions to develop IAMD future products.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) IAMD programs are comprised of PATRIOT Advanced Capability (PAC)-3, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, and Avenger program products and services. PAC-3 is an air-defense missile system designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft where Boeing is the original engineering manufacturer of the seeker. Boeing’s seekers provide active data to the PAC-3 missile which enables it to acquire, intercept and destroy threats using hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 Seeker team is a cross functional, highly skilled, motivated group embracing the beliefs that focused safety, execution, LEAN manufacturing and business practices will secure our future and well-being, driving our product to be the seeker of choice for the PAC-3 program and future generations of weapon systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops program organizational, work structures, top level program and execution plans for future products

  • Coordinates with stakeholders and develops an IAMD IR&D roadmap to successfully grow products/programs to meet customer demand and future objectives

  • Responsible for development of future program architecture and top-level plans for IAMD IR&D efforts

  • Identifies and coordinates key program level horizontal and vertical integration interfaces between major activities, teams, suppliers, partners and customers

  • Develops and implements customer communication and contact plans. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Coordinates across geographically diverse development team to leverage and integrate strengths across Boeing domains

  • Recommends recovery acceleration plans, changes, and corrective actions

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • 5+ years’ experience supporting projects or programs utilizing Earned Value management (EVM) and Risk, Issues and Opportunity (RIO) management to drive program performance.

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, supply chain, project management, supplier management, engineering, math, and/or accounting.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 15+ years of combined experience across aerospace engineering, program management, proposal and business development, or customer engagement.

  • 5+ years’ experience with Program Management on defense related programs performing developmental work.

  • 5+ years’ experience in development of U.S. Army Air and Missile Defense systems (e.g., IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS).

Typical Education & Experience:

Senior: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years related work experience, 14 years related work experience, etc.).

Senior Lead: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years related work experience, 19 years related work experience, etc.)

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Senior: $107,950 – $146,050

Summary pay range for Senior Lead: $132,600 – $179,400
