Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Project Manager/ Principal Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation Organization. This role is located in San Diego, CA.

In this role, you will manage the operational aspects of lab operations and is responsible to the Lab Manager supporting the development and implementation of new lab capabilities, In Addition to the planning, operations, and maintenance of the NATO Lab. The position requires technical knowledge of various systems, design, development, implementation, and testing with a foundation in laboratory integration and test. The selected candidate must act with speed, guide others in producing quality work, be self-motivated, and have the ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions. A successful track record of program performance, and test experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving process rigor, ensure compliance to meet company, program, and security requirements
  • Driving technical and process rigor for lab configuration
  • Tracking leading indicator technical metrics to detect and prevent issues
  • Continually coordinate lab status and issues and solutions with the IPT and across IPTs
  • Continually seek to improve lab integration & test engineering rigor and efficiency
  • Ensure CRs are properly reviewed for Lab cost & schedule impacts
  • Support proposal activities

Basic Qualifications:

Level 2:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 3 years of related professional / military experience OR a Master of Science degree AND 1 years of related professional / military experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active DoD Secret or higher clearance within a reasonable amount of time for business needs.
  • Interim Secret Clearance required to start - full scope of work requires active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Must be flexible, and able to support weekends, multiple shifts, and off hours as dictated by program test activities

Level 3:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of related professional / military experience OR a Master of Science degree AND 3 years of related professional / military experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active DoD Secret or higher clearance within a reasonable amount of time for business needs.
  • Interim Secret Clearance required to start - full scope of work requires active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Must be flexible, and able to support weekends, multiple shifts, and off hours as dictated by program test activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance
  • Experience in lab integration and test activities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Proposal development
  • UAS Lab specific System Test experience
  • MES experience, and management / disposition of customer materials for test
  • Previous experience working directly with customers and suppliers
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Cost Account Management
  • Agile Project Management (JIRA)
Salary Range: $72,100 - $108,100
Salary Range 2: $88,700 - $133,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
