The role:

Project Support Manager

The Project Support Manager will report directly to the Head of Solution Delivery and will support all portfolio managers across the portfolio with all aspects from initiation to closure.

They will own, maintain, and embed best of breed Project Management methodologies and practices including waterfall, scrum and agile approaches ensuring both internal and external stakeholders operate to agreed standards.

They will be the main interface with the wider Programme and Transformation Office to ensure accurate and timely reporting of progress, risks, finances, and resource utilisation.

  • Build, develop and maintain sustainable respectful stakeholder relationships.
  • Inspire outcome-based decision making.
  • Lead performance reviews with key stakeholder groups

 Governance

  • Member/Invitee of the following boards:
    • Portfolio Review Meeting
    • Project Working Groups
    • Steer Co’s
    • Triage Meetings
  • Ensure full adherence to all governance, standards, and processes across the IAG Cargo organisation.
  • Conduct internal functional technology satisfaction surveys and drive continual improvement across the team.
  • Proactively contribute to continual improvement across IAG Cargo, specifically in relation to the Operating Model and ways of working

Responsibilities

  • The Project Support Manager will work in a supportive role to the Portfolio Managers and Project Managers to support the implementation, development and maintenance of tasks relating to Solution Delivery projects.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to Project Support Office team members.
  • Working closely with Programme Management Office to ensure management information is provided on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development of new project management methodologies and processes by facilitating workshops, documenting and refining business process, developing procedures, testing and training materials, facilitating testing and delivering training and support.
  • Responsible for the selection and ongoing support of project management tooling.
  • Working with solution delivery partners to embed methodologies and processes within external teams.
  • Working with portfolio managers to embed methodologies and processes within internal teams.
  • Manage and maintain central repositories for both project methodologies and project documentation in accordance to agreed standards.
  • Own resource demand and capacity processes for the entire portfolio, ensuring resource utilisation is tracked centrally.
  • Support the monthly reporting to IAG Cargo finance team and the tracking of internal and external spend to date and projected forecasts of all projects.
  • Assist with the embedding of new finance policies and procedures.

Your experience:

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience of using project, programme and portfolio management tools (e.g., MS Project, Portfolio for Jira, SAP PPM, MS PPM, HP PPM, Primavera).
  • Proven track record of using project management and/or Agile methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe).

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working in the Logistics, Freight, Courier industry.
  • Experience of major technology and business change programs
