The Regional Carriers and Markets Manager role resides in the Operations branch and will supervise the performance and compliance of Air Canadas regional carriers and its partnership with The Landline Company. 

This role will primarily focus on the operational, commercial, and financial compliance of Air Canada’s partnership with The Landline Company. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure the partnership is aligned with Air Canadas strategic objectives and will manage the relationship and coordination with its regional partners.

This position may be located in Montreal or Toronto. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the launch and ongoing activities of Air Canada’s partnership with The Landline Company, including:
    • Develop, analyze, and monitor the financial plan/budget/forecasts.
    • Manage operational set-up with local stakeholders.
    • Monitor, validate and process incoming charges.
    • Analyze financial performance of Landline Profit & Loss against forecast/budget and ensure corrective actions are undertaken as required.
    • Perform post-evaluations of projects/programs as appropriate to assess actual versus target results.
    • Monitor operational and commercial performance. Accountable to track KPI’s and targets and make recommendations to improve performance.
    • Provide recommendations to commercial teams (Network Planning, Sales) on how to best leverage Landline’s fleet.
    • Lead internal and external review meetings.
    • Establish and maintain strong and effective working relations with internal and external client groups.
  • Support the Manager, Regional Airlines and Markets in managing other regional carriers as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives between regional carriers & various AC departments.
  • Incrementally develop a well-rounded knowledge in all aspects of managing a regional carrier (operational, commercial, financial, contractual & community relations).
  • Support the Director in ensuring all regional capacity from The Landline Company is deployed to ensure maximum leverage for Air Canada. 
  • Occasionally represent Air Canada in regional markets across the North America.
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

  • University degree in business administration, aviation management or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in working with regional carriers or similar partners.
  • Strong interest in the regional carrier business model and industry.
  • Previous finance or accounting experience is an asset.
  • Holistic thinker, storytelling via data and entrepreneurial approach to task and projects.
  • High-level understanding of business performance & reporting.
  • Ability to build a cohesive project framework managing the contribution of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated interpersonal skills and initiative.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Established network of contacts within AC commercial and operational branches is a bonus.

Working Conditions: 

This position requires occasional business travel to airports and other offices. The job will require exposure to moderate levels of stress and pressure to meet tight deadlines.
