Job Description SummaryThe Regional Compliance Leader will be responsible for the compliance program strategy and oversight for Europe. This role will be based in Turin, Italy and will report to GE Aerospace’s International Compliance Leader and Avio Aero’s Chief Compliance Officer, and will have other individuals reporting to him/her throughout the region.

Working in close partnership with key stakeholders within the business, legal and compliance functions, this role will develop, implement and maintain GE Aerospace Compliance Program in the region – with a strong focus to Avio Aero business operations in Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic – including implementing communications, engagement, policies and procedures, leading effective training programs, conducting compliance risk assessment, and directing investigations to respond promptly to detected offenses and undertake corrective actions. This role is critical to the planning and implementation of GE Aerospace’s compliance program and a member of the extended compliance leadership team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the European compliance team to drive a consistent compliance approach and ensure that the compliance program is effective in identifying and mitigating compliance risks.

  • Provide first line compliance leadership to Avio Aero’s functions and sites.

  • Partner with Avio Aero’s leaders and other European leaders to sustain and grow a culture of integrity.

  • Participate and/or leads as appropriate operating rhythms to engage business leaders and functional stakeholders such as Compliance Review Boards.

  • Maintain and lead a regional compliance network consisting dotted-line, part-time site compliance representatives & ombuds to promote open reporting and a superior integrity culture.

  • Coach, guide and support the European compliance team as well as members of other regional teams where appropriate, with a view of developing people, maintain and attract talent.

  • Partner with Aerospace business compliance leaders and the other regional compliance leaders, to design and implement compliance programs involving the S&L policies and risk areas, specifically to ensure the early warning of new local regulations and practices impacting Aerospace program and the timely localization of the relevant policies and procedures for full compliance.

  • In strong partnership with the Aerospace central compliance organization and other Regional Compliance leaders, develop and execute localized and effective regional training and communications.

  • Partners with Aerospace Risk Leader to review requests and transactions associated with high-risk policy areas or any major areas of concern. 

  • Lead the compliance risk assessments and abatement actions across the region and sites.

  • Work with the central compliance team and other regional compliance leaders on the development and delivery of metrics, training materials, case studies, communications and helping to organize and deliver the regional compliance conferences.

  • Partner with the compliance investigation or legal team to ensure early detections of risks and gaps and appropriate definition of effective corrective actions.

  • Identify, propose, and execute improvements to Aerospace and Avio Aero’s existing compliance program, policies and processes to drive better efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Interact with key customers, joint ventures, and business partners to share best practices and provide training to support the development and growth of their integrity programs.

Qualification/Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a compliance, risk management or legal position.

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in accredited universities, preferably in Law or Economics.

  • Fluent in Italian and English.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Strong inter-personal skills, exceptional communicator, internally and externally, and a strong team player. Fluency in English and Italian

  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization.

  • Strong leadership skills to lead, coach, develop team members, and work in a matrixed organization

  • High-energy, self-motivated, confident and positive leader willing to take on responsibilities across geographic and organizational boundaries.

  • Ability to travel which could be frequent depending on activities.

  • Superior communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in writing and orally, the capability to think clearly and quickly under pressure, the composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests and ability to share lessons learned with teammates.

  • Unyielding integrity and integrity mind-set, a passion for excellence.

  • Record of dedicated and successful teamwork, excellent interpersonal and diplomatic abilities.

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
