Reporting Relationship:

Reports directly to the General Manager

Principal Area of Responsibility:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for all facets of contracts and contract compliance, customer support, sales & pricing activities.

Specific Duties:

  • Develops and executes strategic initiatives to grow the sales of Mentor Operations.
  • Maintain extensive interaction with customers.
  • Identify new product/process opportunities and develop pricing strategies to secure new business with maximum profit opportunity.
  • Negotiate contracts regarding price, delivery, specifications, and design.
  • Review all repeat business for desirability to program and growth opportunity.
  • Review engineering changes and tool reworks.
  • Provide market information to accurately forecast new and repeat business for short and long range planning including competitive information to develop and/or change current pricing strategies.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Contract administration personnel to coordinate PCC customer interface and ensure customer requirements are satisfied. Interface with Manufacturing, Production Control, Engineering, Quality and Accounting to coordinate PCC customer interface to ensure that requirements are met. These tasks include RFQ/quotes, travelers, PO’s, PO acknowledgements, engineering changes, implementation of customer schedules, etc.
  • PC duties involved of interfacing with the customer for production delivery commitments and forecasting.
  • Help advance PCC’s customer service business philosophy by maintaining a very close contact with customers, planners, schedulers.
  • Review continuing current repeat business and active job opportunities to ensure schedule adherence and to take advantage of competitive misses, customer pull-ins. This must tie in with Plant Production Control, and Manufacturing and there must be an understanding of plant inventory position as well as on-going contribution to strategic inventory planning.
  • Negotiate contracts regarding price, delivery, specifications and design to provide PCC Mentor with the maximum profit opportunity.
  • Responsible for all sales department budget formulation and adherence
  • Track and manage all activities for new and replacement tools for all Mentor sales accounts. Coordination required with the customer, tool shops, vendors, production control & engineering.
  • Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent experience.

Personal Characteristics:

Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for customer sales & growth strategy. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Work Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment. Investment casting knowledge and airfoils customer exposure is desirable.
