JOB PURPOSE

 At easyJet we are leading an exciting transformation agenda, the Senior Business Change Manager is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a transformation strategy by leading, overseeing and facilitating the embedding activities. The Senior Business Change Manager has responsibility of the end to end change management strategy and plan of transformation initiatives to ensure our people change their ways of working, habits, behaviours and the processes they follow to achieve the desired business outcomes.

The Senior Business Change Manager is part of the Business Change management team and will recruit, lead and manage a team of Business Change Managers and Business Change Specialists and is responsible for fostering a high-performance culture. The role is responsible for managing the change management pipeline of demand, ensuring change initiatives are appropriately resourced and Business Change Managers/Specialists have stretching assignments. The role also actively leads the enablement and embedding of easyJet’s Business Change Practice and wider change activation networks.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Lead change management efforts on key transformation initiatives:

  • Act as a trusted partner to leadership teams, leading the development of comprehensive business change approaches/strategies within transformation programmes or an organisational area/domain
  • Lead on change management activities to drive a deep understanding of change impacts in complex environments through change impact assessments and stakeholder analysis
  • Employ appropriate change management methodologies to create conditions for a smooth transition that enables transformational change to embed
  • Work in collaboration with other change activation teams (e.g Organisation Design, HR Business Partners, L&D, Internal Communications and Industrial Relations) to ensure the embedding of transformational change
  • Lead the planning, delivery and measurement of change management activities, artefacts and interventions to ensure successful embedding of change initiatives
  • Create and promote a clear and compelling change story for the organisational area/domain, ensuring alignment to easyJet’s wider change story and strategy
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of the organisational area, understanding the ways of working, team ambitions and dynamics, processes, technology and operating models
  • Understand and socialise the organisational change impact landscape, showcasing the level of change landing and impact across teams, driving meaningful conversations on embedding risks, prioritisation and sequencing
  • Lead the measurement and analysis of change adoption and manage change embedding risks, promptly addressing doubts and uncertainty surrounding the change to foster acceptance and adoption
  • Facilitates culture shift strategies to introduce new and remove old behaviours in a sustainable way aligned to the desired business outcomes
  • Foster an environment of transparency with leaders on embedding progress and lead strategies to either accelerate change or course correct

 Team management:

  • Ensure the business change resource demands are met within the organisational area/domain ensuring business cases include business change budgets where appropriate
  • Recruit, lead, mentor and coach the business change team, ensuring training plans and learning opportunities are established, driving career development

 Strengthening change management capabilities:

  • Ensure ongoing coaching and mentoring around good change enablement practices to senior leadership, leaders, and influencers to increase their effectiveness in driving sustainable change
  • Facilitate and build business change training material to upskill colleagues (at all levels) on business change best practices, strengthening our change capability
  • Drive best practices within the Business Change team, quality assuring artefacts, approaches and deliverables

 Bring fresh thinking, industry best-practices and emerging trends to the Business Change practice, driving continuous improvement, learning and growth

Job Requirements:

 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Deep change management experience gained through leading several complex change transformation initiatives end-to-end
  • Certified in Change Management (e.g. APMG/Prosci) with experience of leading business change activities across a range of delivery methods, including agile, waterfall and hybrid
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to apply knowledge of internal and external business environments to consider the bottom-line impact of a range of solutions, maximising benefits whilst balancing risks
  • Strong people leadership experience with a proven record of leading and coaching high performing business change teams
  • Skilled ability to perform synthesis and analysis working at a strategic level, translating into action
  • Comfortable challenging leaders, managing conflict and remediating situations to drive alignment and a clear direction of travel
  • High level of flexibility with a proven record of leading others successfully through cultural, process, system and transformational change
  • Curious with a strong desire to understand more about business problems, change impacts, change initiatives and ways of working
  • Resilient and able to work under pressure, skilled at handling complexity, ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to interpret and make sense of complexity through both written and verbally communication mechanisms
  • Excellent collaborator, with the ability to work and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Has a self-starter mentality with a strong desire and ability to make things happen
  • Skilled facilitator, confident facilitating both in-person and remotely with large groups of people with differing opinions and view points
