Job overview and responsibilities

United is seeking a highly skilled and motivated NetDevOps Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in the development, deployment, and maintenance of our network automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, software development, and automation tools, along with a passion for optimizing network performance and reliability.

  • Network Automation: Develop and maintain automated network provisioning, configuration management, and troubleshooting solutions using DevOps methodologies.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Create, manage, and optimize infrastructure templates and code using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet to ensure efficient and reliable network infrastructure deployment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, software developers, and system administrators, to design and implement network solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement CI/CD pipelines for network configurations, enabling faster and more reliable deployments.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Develop and maintain network monitoring and troubleshooting tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal network performance.
  • Security: Collaborate on security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and compliance, to protect the network infrastructure from vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for network configurations, automation processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in NetDevOps to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in network engineering and network automation.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, DevOps, AWS, Azure) are a plus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance ins a essential function of the position.
