Specialist for Electrochemical Simulation and Data Management (d/f/m)

Job Description:

The position is within Aerostack GmbH, a Joint Venture between Airbus and an automotive company, part of the Airbus strategy to accelerate Zero Emission Aircraft development and build competences and skills in the technology domain.

In order to support the R&D Team in Taufkirchen near Munich, a vacancy for a “Specialist for Electrochemical Simulation and Data Management (d/f/m)” has arisen at Aerostack GmbH.

The job holder reports operationally and functionally to the Head of R&D at Aerostack

Accountabilities

• Definition of relevant loss mechanisms of fuel cells in operational window with a focus on the cathode catalyst layer

• Describing the interaction of loss mechanisms with material properties

• Formulation of relevant electrochemical and physical processes in equations

• Implementation in finite element model in cooperation with modelling team

• Management of test data for in-situ and material testing

• Programming tools for automatic data handling and analysis

• Fitting of electrochemical model against test data and extraction of material properties

• Developing methods for parametrisation of electrochemical models

Main responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of software tool for data analysis

• Development and parametrisation of electrochemical  model in cooperation with modeling department

• Extraction of material properties from in-situ and ex-situ data

Qualification

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following competences & skills:

• Master degree in engineering, physical chemistry, mathematics or similar discipline

• Programming knowledge in python language or comparable

• Knowledge of PEM fuel cell technology are a benefit

• Knowledge in thermodynamics and electrochemistry is a benefit

• Experience in in-situ and ex-situ characterization of fuel cell components is a benefit

• Pragmatic mindset and ambition in simplicity

• English fluently, German & French are a benefit
