The Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace Division of L3Harris is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead our Launch Vehicle Integration, Systems Test, and Launch Operations team. This pivotal role managing a highly skilled team of engineers and vehicle technicians will place you at the forefront of cutting-edge aerospace technology, where you will oversee integration and testing of our space bound hypersonic launch vehicles, culminating in the thrill of launch operations.
Essential Functions:
Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians during integration and testing of launch vehicle systems.
Develop and implement strategies for efficient and safe launch operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure launch vehicles meet technical specifications and quality requirements.
Oversee the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans and procedures, including ground testing and pre-launch rehearsals.
Manage coordination with range safety, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders for successful launch campaigns.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
Ability to obtain a US Security clearance.
Willingness for occasional overtime and weekend work, to include up to 25 business travel per year to support launch operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related engineering experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related engineering experience.
Minimum 12 years of experience in aerospace systems integration and testing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Minimum 5 years managing complex projects and leading successful hardware test campaigns.
Minimum 10 years of experience working with aerospace electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience operating, testing, and assembling multi-stage missile systems or comparable aerospace and/or aircraft hardware.
Experience developing mission specific test, schedule, logistics, and launch inputs for RCC 501 Universal Documentation System.
Experience tailoring and implementing RCC 319 launch vehicle flight safety requirements and testing.
Experience and/or certifications related to explosive ordnance operations (blaster, user, etc.)
Experience coordinating, directing, and performing heavy lift rigging and operations.
Experience with USAF cargo aircraft (C-17A, C-130, etc.) handling systems, flight line, and High Altitude Airdrop Mission Support (HAAMS) heavy drop operations.
Experience working on Missile Defense Agency hardware development program.
Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards, ITAR, and EAR regulations.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead teams.
