Job Description:

As a Talent Acquisition Manager, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.

Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Manager of Talent Acquisition is responsible for devising and executing strategic recruitment plans, collaborate with company leadership, lead a team of recruiters and ensure a seamless recruitment process.  This is a hands-on role; managing a team/function and fill select requisitions. The Manager will lead a team of recruiters and support recruitment tasks, manage metrics/KPIs, ensure ATS accuracy, liaise with internal & external partners, fill requisitions, and provide mentorship & guidance to team. The Manager will leverage best practices in sourcing, tracking and reporting as well as continuous improvement of processes. The position may be in any one of MHIRJ’s physical locations.

  • Manage a team of geographically dispersed recruiters; including requisition load of team and troubleshoot/assist when needed
  • Oversee all aspects of the recruitment process including: sourcing, interviewing, assessment, and offer management; ensure seamless, efficient and positive experience for candidates and hiring teams
    • Set standards; define and implement process improvements to increase efficiency of recruitment processes.
    • Create, develop, and apply metrics to track and measure success of team’s function.
    • Establish and manage an understanding of the client needs, active listening to their requirements, and regularly soliciting feedback to enhance the relationship
    • Cultivate relationships with select schools, ensuring MHI RJ reputation with administration and students 
  • Set up and organize proper sources of talent, e.g. trade schools, universities, etc. Ensure support from business and recruitment is in place
  • Achieve hiring targets (exempt & non-exempt roles), by role & location; regular communication on progress including challenges faced
    • Build hiring action plans and roadmap to ensure hiring goals are achieved
    • Lead and support intake meetings with hiring managers and HRBPs to ensure alignment on job requirements, recruiting tactics, etc.
    • Ensure school initiatives are in place and set up for success
    • Track all requisitions; refer searches to external agencies when necessary
    • Goal oriented; continuous evaluation of what’s working / what’s not to meet hiring target
    • Keep a pulse on market conditions and ensure candidate pipelines are strong; ensure transparent communication with business and HRBPs
  • Recommend and implement proactive talent sourcing techniques & strategies to attract and build a talent pipeline for key roles
    • Cultivate sources of talent for technician and office-based candidates.
  • Apply direct sourcing methodologies and tools (i.e., internet sourcing, networking, cold calling, research, etc.); with successful execution
  • Hands on ownership of select requisitions: source, recruit, screen, interview, and recommend external and/or internal candidates for positions
  • Represent the company at recruitment job fairs in community/region as well as at other external events/activities
  • Visit facilities/offices to ensure thorough understanding of business, leaders; gain knowledge of teams, business operations and community outreach options (travel 25 of time)
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation is maintained through all phases of the recruitment process, and is in compliance with state and federal laws

Here’s what is required to succeed as a Talent Acquisition Manager.

  • 8+ years of experience in talent acquisition, of which at least 3 years as Recruiting Manager with people leader responsibilities
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Experienced in owning full cycle recruitment for an organization or large business unit (avg 200 hires a year)
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws applicable to the hiring of employees, including affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with web-based systems and recruiting sources, including: internet, social media, warm/cold calling, referrals, events, trade schools, universities, networking, publications, industry groups/associations, and job fairs
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (Success Factors is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual in English & French is a plus
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience managing 3rd party sourcing firms and agencies
  • Experience creating/editing job descriptions and SOPs
  • Experience in policy development and implementation
