Job Summary
In house tax accounting specialist for a private, growing company in the manufacturing industry.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Data compilation and coordinate preparation of the year-end tax provision; and the federal and state income tax returns with outside service provider.
- Primary contact with CPA firms for all tax related matters.
- Preparation and timely payment of extension and estimated income tax payments.
- Familiar with International GST and VAT payments, refunds, and transactions.
- Familiar with R&D credit calculations.
- Liaison and coordination with HR regarding individual tax questions
- Ensure internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes.
- Manage Tax Fixed Asset database. This includes reviewing fixed asset additions and retirements for accuracy and generating tax fixed asset reports needed to complete the tax provision and income tax returns.
- Knowledge and willingness to assist with General Ledger and Financial Reporting requirements of the company, as needed.
- Completion of monthly/quarterly sales and use tax returns and related payments.
- Research transactions to determine qualification for sales tax exemption.
- Oversight of Forms 1099 issuance at year end.
- Researching newly enacted and proposed legislation for potential impact on the companys financial position and potential tax savings opportunities.
Assist Chief Financial Officer with following duties:
- Conduct analysis and projects of current & future tax liabilities
- Knowledge of domestic and international tax regulations to assist and help plan for Companys growth strategy.
- Propose and research tax saving opportunities
- Research tax issues as it specifically relates to the company
- Other projects as assigned.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Taxation or Accounting. CPA strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years Corporate tax experience, or combined tax experience with experience in public accounting.
- Experience with Federal and State tax compliance at a medium-size Company level.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment helpful.
- International taxation experience is a plus
- Prior experience with income tax provisions and preparing and reviewing a consolidated federal and state income tax return.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and tax accounting rules & regulations. IFRS preferred.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with limited supervision.
- Consistently able to meet deadlines.
